Verizon Nationwide low band 5G just got turned on today

Strange.....my speed tests say 5G when I'm on 5G.

You're on Verizon, and on a Verizon vairant phone? I have the S20 FE Verizon version.

I'd think maybe the icon was bogus, but the speeds are significantly better with the 5G icon displayed.

I've had it to both ways. Not sure if it's a bug in the Speed Test app, or something not fully implemented for a specific tower even with the 5G icon on my signal meter.

I've never had that happen..... Using Ookla Speed Test App

Hmm. That's odd.

Like I said, I'd doubt the 5G icon, but the LTE speeds I usually get are in line with, and often even slower than, the handful in my Speedtest list. The faster ones would be a real shock if they weren't 5G.

Best way to find out if you're really on 5g is to go to your Sim status settings and it tells you what connection the phone is currently on, accurately. Even on low band 5g, 9/10 times it will show "LTE" on your sim settings because it's not fully implemented by Verizon yet. They told me they're having issues in many states so it will take a couple weeks more to be fully functioning. This is according to a Verizon leadership team i spoke to the other day while fixing other stuff on my account.

I never had any doubt because mine is definitely on 5G as indicated by my speed test app each time I run it. Its also listed as 5G in the SIM card settings.

My town doesn't have 5G, so I don't know what u talking about I've recently installed myself the Internet and a television network, and you're talking about 5G. By the way, for a long time I could not find a good company with fast Internet, I only like fast Internet and more channels on TV. I decided to google this question and came across this site telecom fiber network . And you know, I'm very lucky. I was probably installed the fastest Internet that is possible in my city, and now I have a lot of channels on TV and I really like it, I am happy now with all the little things, otherwise because of this covid there are only problems.

I got an update last night but all it says is security. Besides those with the beta have any unlocked versions gotten 5G?
