Verizon Note 3 is factory sim unlocked

There is a huge speed difference between verizon 4g lte and other lte carriers, so there will be a huge difference with H. But that is only going to affect the heavy data users. But H is still decent. You shouldnt have any problems with streaming or anything like that.

so i just called a T-mobile store and one rep says"oh it will work just bring it in and make sure you get the unlock code from Verizon... and then another guy says" No Verizon phone will work with T-mobile because its CDMA and they are GSM" but clearly in this forums people have used them to work .....why would they tell me this

Trust me even with heavy usage HSPA is fine as shown below :).

thanks Jesse DeLong1 for putting a brother on .if any needs any help with their phones this is the man to go he just save me tons of money and from verizon raping me

I have a Verizon Note 3 and I came back from the Philippines two weeks ago. I bought the SMART sim card from there and all I got to work was voice and sms. When I looked at the Mobile network type under the status menu, I think it read EDGE or HSPA+. I spent 5 days in the province so finding an internet connected computer to look up how to get my phone on the internet was not an easy task.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find out how to get the correct APN settings before I left. My dad has the Verizon iPhone 5 and I put a SMART sim card in there as well. Same result, voice and sms only, no mms. But hey, the Note 3 works overseas with a foreign sim card!

Alright. So i am buying a Verizon Note 3 and currently have a TMO sim card, will i be able to use it without any network compatibility issues? Mainly I want to use the 4G LTE with Tmobile..

I wonder if this means no data at all, period? Or can something can be changed in the settings?

If you are willing to do a bit of work there was a previous deal where you can get the Verizon Note 3 for about half the cost of the tmobile Note 3.

ok guys iam going to activate my t-mobile sim tommorw for my VZW Note 3 wish me luck.also when i go to change the apn settings what do i actually put in there lol

I wanted to update the thread. I am sitting in Buenos Aires, Argentina with my verizon note 3. Got a local sim and it's working perfectly. I just had to do some googling to figure out the APN settings. Getting 2-3Mbps down .5 up. Good enough for me! Using Talkatone app to make Google Voice calls free to the US. There's a continuous message on the notifications sections that says "Non Verizon SIM" that won't seem to go away. Otherwise, works like a charm :)

I'm thinking about getting a Verizon Note 3 for my dad who lives in a rural area with bad coverage from all networks and have some questions. I like this phone because it's unlocked out of the box and the idea is to try out t-mobile's $30 plan and fall back on at&t if necessary. It seems like it keeps the most options open.

Is there any real advantage to going with the verizon over t-mobile version of this phone for use on t-mobile/at&t when most use will not be in an LTE area? Are the other bands pretty much covered? I can't see my dad ever needing much bandwidth outside of maybe streaming a Netflix movie in a hotel room or uploading a couple of dozen vacation photos so extremely high speeds aren't as important as just having decent data coverage.

Is the verizon version any better suited toward international travel than the t-mobile version once unlocked?

Basically I'm getting an unlocked Note 3 and am unsure of whether or not I should get the verizon or t-mobile version.

What, exactly, is the difference that it's supposed to make?

Bands are frequencies that are used to transmit and receive data. Verizon originally started using band 13 which is upper 700MHz. Band 4 is 1700/2100 MHz. Band 13 is used exclusively by Verizon, while band 4 is used by Verizon, tmobile and att. This means that since band 4 is now unlocked, in areas where band 13 is loaded, then the phone will switch to band 4, provided that band 4 is deployed. Like at my work, Verizon 4GLTE band 13 is pretty heavily loaded and I get slow down. Since band 4 has been unlocked, speeds have been much quicker

With regards to using it off of Verizon, or now means that you can get 4glte on tmobile and att. Note that att band 4 is limited deployment.
