Verizon Note 3 is factory sim unlocked

H+ I believe that you have to be in a refarmed area. Are you getting mobile data now?

Also @dpham00 you mentioned some time ago with another poster that H+ equates to 4G, or did I read that wrong.
I had/have H+ on my 3g GS2, and always only get H+ on my Note 3 as I know the sub-carrier plan I have been on 22 months until this June gives 3G only. It uses the Vodafone network which has 4G/LTE but in theory I am still on 3G. I did once see 4G on the panel recently, so I may be upgraded before my plan ends.

To me H+ always meant 3G to 21mps. I have a 3G sim wifi dongle with another carrier, though I just have to get a newer Huawei unit and I am on 4G.
There is a step up DC-HSPDA (dual channel) unit which has higher speed 3G (I bought one that was faulty), and there are 4G models that cover the whole speed range.
Anyway I didn't think H+ was 4G.

DC-hspa+ can hit 42mbps in the USA.

5x5 lte is 37.5mbps

AT&T considers 14.4 mbps to be 4g.

It really depends on who you ask. 4g is used as a marketing term so broadly. To me, I think that anything that allows you to do normal tasks smoothly can be called 4g. The real world difference between 20mbps and 150mbps for normal tasks like streaming movies, web, email, games, etc. Is very small. Now, downloading would make a difference but I don't think most people download large files regularly.

lte or hspa+, I don't care so long as I can do what I need without being slow down because of the Internet connection. At my work, lte speeds on Verizon can be typically 2-3 mbps on 700MHz, and 15-25 on 1700/2100.

Hi - I have got the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Verizon model (N900V). I tried using T-Mobile SIM card, but its not working. Is there any settings I need to do to make it work??

I don't know if this has been clarified... but, yes, you can use a Verizon Galaxy Note 3 abroad with a prepaid GSM sim from that country. Shut down the phone before getting on the plane overseas, take the Verizon sim out and put it somewhere safe. When you're in the foreign country, put their sim in and turn on the phone. You should be able to make and receive phone calls on the sim's designated phone number immediately. You won't get data. Now, assuming the foreign carrier's sim has a data package (not all sim's are created equal), you have to make a phone call to the carrier and they will as you a few questions, then send you a text message with a downloadable packet. You can even download it while on the phone with them. This packet will update your APN/VPN settings in order to utilize their data so you can surf the web, post on FB, etc. Simple as. On the way home, I shut down the phone before leaving the foreign country, pulled their sim out (and saved it for another trip to the same place... ie. UK) and put the Verizon sim back in. Powered it on after I landed and everything worked again without a hitch. I also made sure to call VZN before I left overseas to have them suspend my Verizon services while I was away for 2-3 weeks. Didn't affect anything except that I wasn't being charged for Verizon service while I was away. Pretty neat. This also worked the same way on my Moto RAZR Maxx.

Voice and data should work right away. For data you need to edit the apn

I have the same issue as you stated. Did you find any solution for this? Are you able to use T-Mobile sim in Verizon Note 3??

For some reason my Verizon Note 3 won't see my T-Mobile sim. The sim won't register on the network. The sim works in my other phone so I know that's not the problem. A Verizon 4g lte sim works perfect, so I know it's not a hardware issue. All I get is a X over the signal bars. I have tried both GSM and Global modes. Any solution or ideas?

Looks like some people are facing issues with using non-verizon SIM in Verizon Note 3. I have verified it in some other website also. So it not completely true that Galaxy Note 3 Verizon version is Factory unlocked

I have a Verizon Note3...so is it possible that I can also take my note 3 to MetroPcs and they can activate my note 3 thru them instead of paying the outrageous fees associated with using Verizon...or can I just put my Metro SIM card in my Note 3 and it should work being that it's part of the global 700 spectrum....

You can put your metro sim card into the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3. It should work, but you would need to edit the apn for data. You would not be able to access the 700 MHz LTE network on any other carrier in the usa though as they operate on different bands

Make sure that you have the latest updates on both devices. Then just get a GSM StraightTalk sim, and edit the apn on the phones.

So my Dads Verizon Note 3 failed to work on central americas Movistar network. They put the Sim in and it didn't work.

I'm guessing its region locked to North America which sucks.

Mine wasn't. I have used mine in Asia.

When you say it did not work, you put in the sim and set it to global mode and tried to make a call and out failed?

Not sure I'm not there with them, they said that they were at the store for 2 hrs and couldn't get it to work and iirc it was set to global mode before he left.

If it should work then maybe the people in the store didn't know to play with the settings?

I wish I was there to confirm this bah
