Verizon Note 3: Problem with update

I just got a Note 3 today and I checked for update and one is available. After I select install it brings me to a weird screen. I think it's the "boot loader" screen. With the green android guy in the middle with his chest open. And I use the volume up/down buttons to scroll and power button to select. Same screen where you clear the cache. I have never been directed here for an update. I can choose install update from either external storage or ADB or cache. Anyone have any idea what I do? I did go thru every option and nothing happened. Just kicks back to beginning. Except ADB choice asks me to upload something. My phone was bought today and I haven't messed with anything at all except downloading apps.

Re: Problem with update

Chances are you aren't supposed to do anything. When Samsung pushes out an update like you just got, it usually steps you through it with little to no intervention from the user. Others can chime in here, but I'd say leave it run after a reboot and see what happens. If nothing else, bring it back to the store and show them what's going on. If you bought it from a Verizon store, or for that matter, even a Best Buy, they should have turned it on for you and done a good part of the set up for you before you even left the store.

Does this mean we are getting 4.4.2? *crosses fingers

Checked mine no update yet :-(

Since OP just bought his phone today, it's most likely the 12/10 update.

Since the update doesn't work I choose to reboot the phone and after that it says update was unsuccessful. And if I check for update again it's still there. I agree I believe it is the 12/10 update

I just bought my note 3 tuesday, and did the update that day. I got another update yesterday. Still on 4.3 though.

Figured it out. When I got the phone I put my SD Card from my previous phone in to transfer my photos. Since the Note 3 didn't come with one it must have messed with the settings I guess. In assuming the download went to the SD Card instead of phone memory which cause my issue. I unmounted and took out my SD Card. Then did the update again and it worked perfectly fine. When I was finished I put my SD Card back in and everything seems to work fine.

When checking battery life check if something called index server is using a lot of battery life. If it is, you may need to reformat that sd card
