Verizon Note 4 Wi Fi Auto Connect "Automatically connect to AT&T Wi Fi Hotspot when detected.

I am simply starting a new thread for search ability.

I spent a little time with Verizon Tech Support, Samsung Tech Support, and Google (worthless). Verizon was not aware of this being there, but was going to look into it. They started the process to have it reviewed and repaired.

Samsung was granted remote access to my phone and saw the feature first hand. They came back and said it wasn't put in by Samsung. It appears to be a feature that Verizon or Google had authorized to be released.

Google was a waste of time. They gave the typical, we only support Nexus devices, and proceeded to explain to me how they give a Generic OS to the manufacturers for them to add their features to.

I have to say, the Verizon rep was very helpful and courteous. We will see if anything actually comes of the AT&T Auto Connect on Verizon phone mystery.

Since this feature doesn't really affect anything on the phone and can be shut off, it is not a huge deal, but would be nice to have it removed.

Also had them put in a request to fix the Wi Fi notification so it can be cleared. That is annoying.

Does the Power Saving Mode notification still show constantly?

I just turned it on to see. It does stay on and can't be wiped away.

I spoke to Verizon about this earlier today as well.... They told me that I must have AT&T internet and it is interfering with my phone. I explained to customer service that she was an i d i o t and I had Verizon FIOS BTW and this was obviously skipped by their QC. LOL Anyhow, they blame Samsung. Of course.

Samsung and Verizon tried to tell me that as well. My question back to them was, since when does having a hotpot nearby hard code a hotpot option in the settings? If that was the case why didn't I have a Xfinity option? They quickly stopped telling me it was because I was near an AT&T hotspot.

I just updated my Verizon Note 4, it was a push software update from Verizon. earlier today and I have the same problem. I can't wipe away the "Wi-Fi connected" and then the issue with auto connect to AT&T hot spots. I'm assuming it's not worth even trying customer service. I didn't have this problem until to updated today.
