Verizon Note 8 - Is this the New DT Ignite?

I'm searching too. I keep getting notifications about 'logiadeck' using excess battery power and I can't find it either.

I'm pretty sure I saw another topic a while ago that said it was. I had already assumed it was, and have had it disabled since the day I got my N8, with no problems.

yes. on another thread on same subject, this was it.
Glad I was curious about this thread and checked it out. Yet another bloatware app disabled on my phone. Is there a thread around here somewhere that lists all apps (bloatware) that can be safely disabled? If not, there should be.

Yes it is. If you disabled it the name will revert back to DT Ignite.

Thought I recognized that icon.

I just disabled it and it's still called "Mobile Services Manager".

Did I do something wrong?

No give it time and it will revert to DT Ignite. I run an app on my phone that ensures DT Ignite stays disabled.

Personally I think apps like DT Ignite should be illegal. On my Note 4 Verizon installed two games and a remote app and set app permissions using DT Ignite. Verizon will tell you it's for remote diagnostics, to me it's just a virus.

What is the Verizon Security & Privacy app? Is it OK to disable it?

Is there a list somewhere of what app are safe to disable on the Verizon Note 8?

I disabled it and my phone is working fine. It was one of the first I disabled. I also had it disabled on my N4.

Edit: I guess it's called Support and Protection on my phone.

I agree, we need a dedicated thread here, with a list of apps that are OK to disable on the Note 8, if one doesn't already exist.

Here are the system apps I have disabled so far.

Thanks. Maybe someone will chime in with a complete list. What in the world is Hum?

What's DT ignite? Am I missing something? Never heard of it...

It's really frustrating that Verizon puts this nonsense on their phones. I'm very tempted to flash my Verizon Note 8 to an unlocked firmware so I don't have to deal with this.

I disabled DT Ignite on the phone as the very first thing I did when I got it. I powered it on and didn't put in a SIM card, didn't enable WiFi or login to any accounts, etc. I got past the setup and disabled DT Ignite as the very first thing I did.

It continues to say Disabled but yet I've had to uninstall NFL Mobile and Slacker Radio at least 3 times now. I just noticed this morning that they're back again and DT Ignite is definitely still disabled. I also don't see a Mobile Services Manager app in the list of apps to disable.

Does anyone know what else could be causing these apps to come down?

Make sure automatic update is off in Play Store. Other than that, not sure. I installed BK Package Disabler and killed lots of bloat stuff that way. Was surprised how well it worked.

Here's what I just did.

1) Factory data reset back to stock. Take out Verizon SIM card.
2) Turn it on and don't enable WiFi, don't login to any accounts (Google/Samsung), don't set anything up. Just get to the OS and immediately disable DT Ignite.
3) Disabled the basic Verizon apps I don't want. That includes Verizon Cloud, Message+, Caller Name ID, and VZ Protect.
4) Enable WiFi, add Google account, and let the on device apps (mostly Google and Samsung) update.
5) Confirm that automatic updates from Google Play are disabled.
6) Rebooted several times to watch what happens. No new installs.
7) Confirmed that DT Ignite was still disabled and then inserted my SIM card.
8) Watched as Caller Name ID, Message+, VZ Protect, automatically re-enabled themselves. Then watched NFL Mobile, Slacker, and hum install automatically.

Any ideas on what other service to disable that's causing these apps to install as soon as I put in my SIM card?
