That's because people mostly post complaints on forums. that's one of the reasons forums exist to help with problems. And this is why I haven't updated it yet. I'm hearing way more buggy behavior than positive upgrade.
Well, Sprint just released Lollipop 5.1 on their Galaxy Note Edge variant. I would hope that this update would come soon to this version of the phone on Verizon. And I hope it takes care of the issues that 5.0.1 brought.

I craislisted it and sold my Edge (with accessories) for 565.00 last Saturday. I replaced it with a (okay don't laugh too hard) prepaid phone that worked instantly on the Verizon network. I simply put the sim from the Edge in the Samsung J1. Now compared to the greatness (The Edge)... well other than better battery life there's no comparison. I'll deal with it for now. It will have to hold me over until the Note 5 arrives. Cost 80.00 (on sale) from Best Buy, runs 5.02 out the box so it runs smooth (albeit slower than what I'm used to of course) and syncs well with my watch. The screen is much smaller, but it lasts all day as its not pushing as many pixels among other things. Foxfi works on it too and I have unlimited so that's important to me. It"ll make for an okay backup phone if I need it later.
I already miss the Edge. I've checked the night clock in the morning and it's not there.I miss opening apps from the edge as well. I miss the speed and power. And I sort of missed the stylus as well. My fiancee (she has the Note 4) laughed at me at first and was like WTH? She's endures me as I've done things like this to myself before and now she thinks with the price most likely falling on the Note Edge (It's already done so on at&t) and the Note 5 dropping earlier than expected I may be alright.
Anyway I wish you guys the best and I hope the Note Edge somehow gets the attention and respect it deserves.
See you on another device!

How'd you get the J1, first of all.. And second how did it work with your Verizon sim card?
EDIT: Never mind, silly me didn't do my researchmy bad

Just wanted to add my experience of Lollipop. In a word: horrendous.
Easy download, easy install, but battery seems worse, the phone heats up quicker and the phone is at times cripplingly slow. That's the most unforgivable part. I'm, what, two months into my contract with Note Edge (which i loved) and now I have a phone that runs like my girlfriend's two year old s4. Unacceptable.
I have wiped the cache partition. I guess the next step is to back everything up and try a factory reset. Failing that, is there any way to revert to the old version of Android that it came with?
Appreciate any help.

The battery seems to be almost the same for the 2 phones from my using this for 2 days.
So I was wondering, how's the J1 holding up for you? It seems like a *major* downgrade, but you never really knowmight be a good backup phone or for taking a trip where I don't want my fancy expensive huge phone

LOLS! Well to say the least... it's not pretty! But to be honest I expected worse. Performance with the 1 gig and slow processor much is worse than the Edge, but on par with the Samsung S3 (A great phone for me) from yesteryear. It's amazing how far we've come in tech and what we expect out of it!
Anyway I've got to reset it every other day (otherwise it slows to a crawl). Call quality is just average if not a slightly below. Lollipop on this phone is what it should have been on the other phones so it's a mixed bag. And I get all day (and plus some) battery life with no concern for brightness level and screen timeout set at 30. This is extremely important to me. And I don't miss quick charge because of this.
I've been very busy with both work & play and for the last month, but when I've had time to get my "tech on" my smartwatch has been getting most of my attention. These factors along with the Note Edge niggles were probably the main reason I could downgrade so easily and wait it out until Note 5 or whatever. If the Note Edge had the battery life of the J1 I'd be in heaven and I probably would have kept it longer, but as it stands I'll be missing out on the Edge goodness though I'm making it through whole day without running out of juice. This is something I could rarely do on my Edge. I really don't understand how people are achieving this feat.
And you're absolutely right. It is a MAJOR downgrade! :'( I dropped the J1 on the ground (no case mind you) and I continued do what I was doing only to pick it up a 10 minutes later. And boom! Not a scratch on it! And everything's working fine. Go figure. Now if that had been my precious that was falling I probably would have caught it mid-air, yep before it ever hit the ground! Trust me. I've juggled my Note Edge and have nearly sacrificed life and limb to save it (even when I had a case on it). And I know I'm the only one!
Now can I get an amen?!

Hmm.. InterestingI think I'll go with a moto g or something with lte but more stock (for lag issues) but I never really knew about the j1!

Right on. Are you keeping your Edge or will this be in place of it until the next great device arrives?
