Is verizon sitll doing the replacement or not anymore cuz the update
Here's what they offered me:
DX2, Dinc2 or Charge (certified of course), or a choice of early upgrade.
Each offer has its pluses. The replacement gives me a 4G phone, now, with my unlimited plan. The upgrade allows me a nearly free phone when a better 4g comes out. If I have the whowithhow to wait until around Thanksgiving, like I did for my Fascinate, it'll cost me 96 cents to upgrade.
My account was flagged to get these options a couple of weeks ago.
First phone issues within a month, replaced
Second phone lasted 6 months before it started overheating (they replaced phone, battery and microsd)(replaced)
Third phone wouldn't let me hear anyone on the phone call (replaced)
Fourth phone shot my sd card across the room every time I tried to insert it into the slot (replaced)
Fifth phone seems okay, except that it has already shut itself off with a full battery, and has an odd fade effect when transitioning that it's never done.
Phones 3 thorugh 5 are replacements within 3 weeks from phone 3 to 5. Their "rule" is that they want you to go through at least 3 phones. At first they didn't want me to have a Charge because it was 4G, and then subsequent calls said that they would give it to me. And the Early upgrade is whenever I want to use it, which means I also get to keep the phone I have as long as I have some level of satisfaction with it... which ends up getting given to my wife.
I'm holding out in case the SGSII has 4G when its released. If not, then I'll choose the best phone possible from what Sam's Club offers for Black Friday like I did with this one in the first place. $0.96 was an awesome deal last November for the Fascinate. Too bad about the run of luck I had on it.
