Verizon- pie update?

I have a Verizon Note 9 (N960U) Currently on ARL1. If I sideload and upgrade to CSAA and then Verizon releases a newer firmware from ARL1 to CSAX, how will I be able to upgrade to that?
You'd have to downgrade back to Oreo and take the OTA

I disabled Verizon's cloud lol
Yep. I enjoy Verizon's service and I'm willing to pay the higher prices for a good connection everywhere I go, but I have zero interest in their apps or cloud. I wish they would spend less time on that crap and more time on getting us updates timely. (Steps down off soapbox)

Are you sure on that? I'm on CSAA on my Verizon Note 9 and I would think we would still get the OTA notification of its availability. Havent heard of CSAX though.

When I go to my system updates it still says my last upgrade was ARL1 even though I'm actually on CSAA. I'd think we'd still get notified...

The consensus on another post was that CSAA is the official software and the Pie OTA from Verizon will be the same as available from firmware science. But if its not, you will not get an OTA since you are not on official Verizon software.

Just repeating what I was told by someone smarter than me

Wrong , the sideload Pie is what Verizon will push out in OTA and is official , dont need to do anything further and when next update for February comes out you will see a notification for it .

Well I guess we will have to wait and see to know for sure... doesnt make a whole lot of sense though to me, but that's just my thinking. Which post was that from? I'd like to go read that.

It was somewhere on XDA, will never be able to find it

Thanks everyone for all the info on finding the cloud. I have my texts backed up through Verizon, but I like being able to sync the gallery.

Are you actually seeing the Samsung cloud in your apps? I have not found it there.

Gents relax,

Sorry I haven't been on been dissecting this update with XDA samsung devs. So far we have nailed 14 new features coming to root users in a few weeks. We have gained root and have been using exploits to a archive what we have.

Samsung knows nothing about the CSAAA Verizon update once the update was pushed to Verizon they frozen all batches to do integrity checks and security passes on there end. This just wrapped up last week. The Verizon update should hit on the 28th of February or March 1st 2019.

My sources are very much good at what they do. Please let me know if I can help here. Been on the XDA site for a few days.

International users the pie update will ne pushed directly by Samsung international. Users who have the U Variants be patient. You might be getting the new features 1st.

March is right around the corner and andriod Q is about to be announced as well we have so much cool stuff going on right right and dissecting this code line has been amazing and we will more then likely see Q before a 9.1 after going through this code we have found the word "Code name Q" all over the place.

My name is Icey and I have been a XDA dev since the original Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Notes. Let me know if I can answer any questions regarding Samsung devices and or development.

It's great to have you and Mustang out here helping all the time. Thanks!

Yep. It is showing up now. I had to use the search function for it the first time and then it showed up with my apps. Thought that was odd.
