Re: Verizon- pie update? (Update: Rolling Out Now!)

Your welcome
Download the file to the sd card make sure it's not encrypted
Restart the device before it starts
1.hold Bixby, volume up,power then after u see the android bot release
2. Scroll with volume buttons and select sd update and power button to select that file
3.wait 15 to 20 minutes it will reboot
enjoy pie
Thanks for this! I kept debating about side loading it and finally went for it this morning. So far so good. Still getting familiar with it, but I like what I see so far. Thanks again mustang!

You're barking up the wrong tree. Samsung has no idea when Verizon will push the update. Even Verizon CSR's will not be able the answer you. Rumor right now is March 1rst - or just install it yourself.

Yeah well it took me a bit to see that. All I saw was Verizon. My bad. No need to be hateful.

At this point if you want the update now, it's there waiting for you. If you choose to wait for Verizon to finally release it, that's on you. The only person you have to complain to now is yourself. Go get your update today.

Yep. It's not hard at all to get it yourself. I waited, hoping Verizon would get it done this week and I finally just did it myself. Didn't take long and it is working great. No reason to wait on Verizon.

So here's an update. I did a little digging this morning and found a comment on the Verizon community forum. The first thing I usually do after getting my new Android devices is (1) activating WiFi Calling and (2) disabling the apps bundled in that I don't won't, including all of the Verizon apps except for My Verizon and Voicemail. It seems that after the update because I had "My Verizon Services" disabled it would not allow me to re-activate WiFi calling. So the solution was to enable "My Verizon Services", restart the device, and go to the phone app, settings, WiFi Calling and viola it re-activated. Now I can disable those Verizon apps again. :D

Good job!

This thread is mighty long!

Hey ... I passed my big test yesterday, yay, and now I can have Pie, chocolate cream, please!!

I didn't want any distractions until I conquered the beast. But I have one question. Where is the My Verizon services? I want to make sure it is turned on before I start the update.

I was tired of waiting and went ahead updated to pie. I really like the dark mode and missed it from coming from my s9+. it was easy with no issues I've found yet.
