You can trade in the s21 on Samsung, even if you owe on it. You willl break even with the trade in amount. You will just keep making payments on the s21. Verizon treats it as a loan and will take you to collections if you don't pay it off. I've traded phones not paid off before thru Samsung or best buy. I'm not sure it will work thru verizon though.I still owe like $750. on the S21 Ultra with Verizon and don't have the funds right now to pay it off for an upgrade.
Hate to start up another line just to get the S22 Ultra.
Guess I could sell the S21 Ultra on eBay and just eat the difference.
What is my best way to get the new S22 Ultra on launch day?
If you have more then one line and one or more with no device payments you can transfer your device payments to a line that does not have device payments. Then your line is open to do the S22 Ultra. You can not transfer payments to another line if you did a promotion that ties that line up, such as the S22 Ultra $1,000 trade in. This trade in will tie your line up for 36 months, you can't change plans or swap device payments around it, the line is tied to this promotion. A call to Verizon would tell you your options here. Verizon still is showing the black 512 arriving Friday.
Those are a couple options. Samsungs method will not get you the phone on release date
