Verizon pushing 5.10.605.9 update

I don't know - prior to the update (did it this morning - no problems at all) my phone would struggle to get a 1X connection in this pit of a basement where I work. Now it's been showing 1 - 2 bars of 3G all day. I haven't received a call/used data yet to know if it's really better - but it's encouraging!

if you hit the search button and type clock does it see the clock app?

I stil do not see the clock app when searching but I use the HTC widget anyway, but after the update my DInc2 seems to get a better signal than it used to get at my house and surrounding areas. Im used to getting only 1 bar of 3g n my area and now it averages around 3 bars, woo hoo!

So far for me just 5 bars and Verizon Video app. I'm getting a warranty replacement today cuz the ear piece speaker is blown on this one. I'll let you know how the update goes on a out- of -the -box replacement DInc2

So yeah this update bricked my phone as well...stuck on the white screen with the htc logo all night last night. Wont even power on now despite being on a charger all day. Had to get a new one overnighted to me. Will be here tom.

I did the update shortly after it was released and had no problem with the update and install. As others have reported I now have the 5 bar signal status instead of the 4 bars and the Verizon Video app. that actually seem pretty good.

The only thing I noticed with the Video app is that it stated that it will use data charges, which tells me that it does not use WiFi at all! Not a problem for me since I have the Unlimited Data plan but for some that have the 2gb or 4gb data cap that might become an issue!

Agree with you on the VZW Video App. It's absurd that it only runs on network and can't be used via WiFi so they are pretty much trying to force people to use data on their network to drive revenue when they have a device with WiFi, unless there is some feature that will allow you to login on WiFi once your subscription is confirmed. Regardless, I'm not even going to explore the app any further.

Anything with a big red V in the name I don't touch and hide with go launcher.

Got my replacement DInc2 last night and when I go to software update it opens, says checking, then just closes with no message. Anyone else have that issue?

did the update yesterday, only thing i noticed was the verizon video app. wasnt thrilled with it. but that was nothing till today. ringer volume, notifications, and music were all muted. couldnt get it going as many times as i raised the volume. tried to make a phone call to customer service and the phone started switching between car dock mode and desk top mode. all the while i was holding it in my hand, not connected to any chargers or docks. i did however get a great customer service rep, who will be over nighting me a new phone. stayed on the phone with me 40 minutes then even gave me a call back an hour later at my office. even offered me a days credit on my statement. not thrilled about having the lack of phone for a day but i was happy with customer service. over all i stilll love my incredible2 but this update was incredibly dissapointing.

Explains why it may have actually been pulled.

My alarm clock is working again and the extra signal bar. Didn't go near the vzw video.

I got the extra signal bar. Now, instead of 3 out of 4 bars, I'm at 3 out of 5 bars. Since I'm on wifi almost all the time I guess it doesn't matter much.

This update adds an extra bar to the RSSI icon. However, has anyone noticed an improved RSSI -dbm measurement?

I didn't do any measurements before/after - but I do notice that I stay connected to 3G all the time in my basement office now where before the phone would struggle just to maintain a 1X connection.

Any more info on whether or not verizon pulled this update? I still can't get it
