I'm SICK AND TIRED of this phone, or should I say the crappy software updates they keep dropping on it. EVERY update creates a NEW screw up. Gingerbread has brought back not only random reboots but also lock-ups during use, of EVERY function on it. I've had it lock up when I'm texting, emailing, surfing, gaming and talking. This is unacceptable for a $300 phone that you are locked in to for 2 years. The number one culprit that seems to lock it up is an app you can't get rid of, Sense UI. HTC/Verizon have really dropped the ball on this phone. The ONLY people I know that are having good results with this phone are those who have rooted it. Once they strip off the bloatware, they have a phone that is exceptionally powerful and works well. Anyone who leaves it stock and allows the OTA updates has had nothing but frustration. I've TRIED to give you guys every opportunity to fix it but with a phone that now reboots or locks up 20-25 times a day, I've had enough. I COULD root it but I should not have to root a phone that I paid this much for just to make if functional.

Sorry you feel that way. My TB has worked perfectly since day one when I got it in spring. I went through all the OTA's without a problem. Little to no reboots, MMS/SMS went to the right person, screen responces to gesturs worked fine. I agree with you that not all users as lucky as I was. My daughters TB had the reboot/message problem untill the second OTA. My wifes phone still has some screen issues after the third OTA, but so far, she can live with it. Neither of them are rooted, but I am since last month when the security update came out.

Did you take it to a Verizon store and demand a NEW (not refurbished) device? I agree, if you pay that much money for the phone, they should support their customers.

Well, this is a fine how-do-you-do. I'm exactly 15 days from purchasing not one, but TWO Tbolts from Best Buy (can't beat the $99.00 price tag), and now I hear this. My upgrade starts then, I'm grandfathering over my data plan, and I'm hoping and praying that neither of my phones will be plagued by issues such as yours. Also, in most cases, Verizon has been willing to make things right, and you don't mention if you've tried to talk to them. I've had four things go wrong with my Eris, and every time, they have taken care of it right away. I hope you can get your issues resolved, and hopefully I don't have any of them. Good luck to you.

Sorry you're having so many problems. My Bolt is stock and just works, so I won't be joining your group to recall it. You really should give VZW a chance to address your problems, either with a new phone or a refurb. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry too much. You see one post, from one user....its not the norm. And like you said, if you have problems, take them back.

I am on my 4th replacement, and was actually offered a bionic the other day. Call Verizon get tech on the phone get a replacement and start there. I totally understand your frustration :)

My Thunderbolt has been pretty flawless. I even get a full day of normal use from the battery.
Sorry yours is broken. You should get VZW to replace it under warranty if it is broken. Not sure why you would hang on to a broken phone.

Haven't had any issues. Even with froyo I barely had any issues.

And I'm not rooted.

Bolded above is NOT true. I'm not rooted and completely stock and the phone works very well! I'm VERY happy with it. A great majority of others the same thing, so there is no reason for a recall.

While I understand your frustration, what have you done to try to fix the issue? Battery pull? Master reset? If those don't help, contact Verizon for assistance or a replacement. :)

I have had none of the reported problems either. Got mine early in the year and was stock until about 2 months ago. Now rooted, but have had no issues before or after rooting.

Reboots or locks up 20-25 times a day? isn't that a bit extreme? ANY electronic device i owned that faulty would have been long, long gone by now. methinks the OP exagerates a bit much. again, good luck with that Tbolt from Satan's Craw.

Mine works great too. I see the op has flooded other sites with same whiney post. If he put half as much effort into solving the problem as he did flooding the forums with this garbage, either his handset would be fixed, or he would have a shiny new one in his hand.
Just sayin'

Yep, mine is working fine for what I use it for, a cell phone. If want to watch a movie then I use my TV, send an email, I have a laptop that I am typing on right now. Texts go to the right person, battery life has improved ten fold since both GB updates (even went back to my stock batter vs. free extended battery from VZW). I guess I am just not as on the go as other folks. For me it's a great "cell/smart phone". Does what I need, when I need it. Sorry that others are having problems, never any fun when you pay $$$ for something that has problems. I know its a pain, but I would just keep taking them back if they don't work. Each time you have a 50/50 chance at getting a great new phone, or another brick. In which case, only cost you some time, got back, and try again, sooner or later it will work out.

After further review, me thinks this thread should be locked because there is no ask for help, just hatin' for the sake of hatin'. Mods should lock it down and op should take it somewhere else.

This is my second bolt, but once I rooted it, I suddenly had the most sick phone ever.

Just do it.
