Title says it all. How can such a heavy skin like touch wiz receive lollipop before an almost stock OS?

Yes, i know we must be patient because they are trying to work out the bugs, but seriously... come on moto step your game up.

The model that's the same generation as the 2013 Moto X is the S4, is it not? And so far I've not read any reports of the S4s getting Lollipop.

It is still ridiculous in my eyes. The 13 was released in august 2013 and the S5 in April of 2014. The 2014 moto x was released in September. The gap between the 13 and S5 and from the S5 to the 2014 were pretty much equal. At least the Dev edition 13 X should have lollipop by now.

Motorola had the opportunity to really fix its reputation with getting updates out and now I am amazed by how slowly they are moving. The only two phones in their portfolio running 5.0 are a Nexus and the Moto X. Shame on Motorola....To have the Nexus and not have the ability to put Lollipop on more of their phones really has me smh.

Lollipop 5.1 just released.
No changelog available yet.
Hope memory problems were resolved.
Still, some progress, any progress is good.

I'm perfectly happy running a stable 4.4.4 on my Moto X 2013. I installed 5.0 and 5.0.1 on my N7 2012 and it's made it virtually unusable. Take your time Moto and get it right.

Have you all ever heard that good things come to those to wait? I'd much rather Motorola take their time and get the rollout of the update right than to have them rush out a buggy Lollipop update and have a lot of unhappy customers.

Check the newsfeeds for the report that the 2013 chipset is responsible for the Lollipop delay.

Having cut the landline cord in 1999, I can say one thing that I've learned is always buy a phone for the software it has -- not what it may/should get. I'm OK with eventually getting Lollipop, but it seems like many of the best features are already on X-13.

As someone that has owned several Samsung devices that have gone to pot after an update, all I can say to those that would prefer that experience is "good luck" and "are you crazy?"
