Does anyone have any information on when the Marshmallow update will be released? My frustration level is starting to bubble.

I read somewhere that it would possibly be next month. It's really starting to **** me off, especially since the S7 has already been released and the update already came out for the Note 5.

It is always entertaining to see the chatter on forums when a new release is in the air. I want it NOW!!! Damn the bugs, just get it out NOW! It's unfair that it hasn't been released to ME, I want it NOW! My carrier and phone manufacturer are conspiring against ME, since others have it on their phones. If you really want it that bad there is probably a pre-release somewhere. Or you could wait for them to fully test and patch it on the Verizon S6. Your call. Or get a Nexus and get updates first.

Back in the days of the Palm Treo phones, they often shipped releases without thorough testing. One release in particular was being demanded by owners because it fixed crash/hang issues. Problem is that the release permanently bricked some phones. A lot of them actually. That's when I got a lot less anxious for updates.

Considering that the Note 5 has already recieved it, it's safe to assume they have it ready but are sitting on it.

No, it's not safe to assume. When a carrier gets a release from a manufacturer it is for a specific device. Then the carrier needs to modify and test it for each device so that it supports their carrier specific firmware. Given that a carrier can't afford to have a separate team for each device, they need to prioritize. Oldest phones may never get the update, newest phones would probably get it first, barring any problems that might delay it. The Note 5 and the S6 are different devices with separate modifications and testing. The Note 5 is slightly newer so would have been higher in priority than the S6. Then if several updates are ready at the same time, the carrier would stagger the releases because it is an impact to their systems, their networks, and their support staff. To the customer I know it seems like they are being jerked around, but you do not want an update before it is ready.

So you're telling me that it has nothing to do with the release of the s7 and s7 edge? It's a matter of coincidence that the v10 and Note 5 happened to recieve them first when there is no release of an upgrade in the very near future? We'll agree to disagree... we are both assuming but I'm more of a skeptic when it comes to carrier transparency/customer service and it appears you assume it's an organic business model(priority based on phone release). Either way, this system of updating is currently broken and fortunately, Google's Nexus line appears to be making great strides so I'm contemplating a purchase.

I didn't say the S7 had nothing to do with it.

To answer OPs question... I've seen nothing new. All I can find on line is we are getting it but there is no news as to when... I know it can be frustrating but I'm waiting right there with you. I'm to the point now of manually checking when I get up, and when I go to bed. I know it's coming, just not when. Parents note 5 is live with 6.0.1, which frustrated me even more lol, and the touchwiz 6.0 theme is decent, but I know it's not the same.

Give it time, it'll come. I also hear sometime april, but no stuck date... may the odds ever be in your favor.

I'm jealous that those damn ios folks don't have to wait. I'll be patient... Thanks for an actual answer!

I agree. And the same folks clamoring for the update are usually the same complaining that something isn't working after the fact. Oh and yes, Apple does give their users timely updates and you can download them the second it's available, but, if you go to their forums, folks complain as much as Android users about issues to their devices after the update. Be patient and allow Verizon to work out all of the bugs (or at least as much as they can). It will arrive soon.

Downloading now. I don't know if I will do the install yet as almost lunch time (central time).

I did have to check for the update manually.
