Verizon S8+ Unlocking in Pocket

Had the phone out of the house for the first time. Paired with car bluetooth, first use of bluetooth. Had to get groceries and I always carry the phone in my shirt pocket with now issues. This time the phone kept unlocking and doing things, trying to set emergency contacts, trying to create a new email. No idea what was going on as I do not have smart lock set and do not have emergency mode turned on. Something to do with bluetooth maybe?

I have pin, fingerprint and iris, no face. Phone was locked before placing in my pocket and I have the "lock in dark place" toggle set on. I'm thinking it had something to do with emergency mode as the screen to choose contacts was open three time. Also saw something about setting smartlock up, but again I have nothing there enabled.

This might be your issue I was having the same problem.

It's because of that incredibly stupid "feature" where just tapping the screen turns on the screen. Then because the lock screen is so easily "swipped" to unlock is where it's doing that. With FP or Iris scanner/pin turned on, it'll cut down the unlocking but the screen will still CONSTANTLY turn on in your pocket. Make sure you turn off the after "15 attempts, device will wipe" feature. It is so infuriating. They need to make it option to make tapping the screen. Yes, I've tried everything. I'm not new to Android and know my way around. All you can do is turn down the sensitivity. But not off. It's odd because they had the same "feature" with the hardware button in previous models. But you could turn it off.

Makes no difference. It's the same feature on tapping the screen. Capacitive screens are supposed to work with only finger inputs, but we all know that's not true.
