Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Asurion Upgrade & Dbrand, Skinomi or Slick Wrap Skin Opinions

Let me ask you this.. Are you one that is bad to drop phonea or work in an area where it could be damaged easily or dropped?

If you are just trying to be extra careful and none of that applies, you might not need a stronger case. I haven't dropped mine yet and I've had it since launch day. Several people here have dropped their phone while using it and sometimes talking on it while standing up and they only had a scratch on the edge, etc.

Another thing to think about, is switching the insurance after you get the phone. As long as you bought the phone within 30 days or currently have insurance, you can get your phone covered. It is a lot cheaper, you can take it to a local shop if you want for repair, send it to Samsung and the deductible is only $75.

The best, for the price coverage they have is 3 years and it is $129.99, two years is $99.99. The only down side to Square Trade is they don't cover losing the phone or theft, just damage. So if you drop the phone and crack all the glass, it will only cost $75 to get it fixed or replaced if you damage it very badly. My sister has square trade on my niece's iPhone and she cracks the screen all the time. Last time she did and it was about her 6th repair for the year, she closed the car door on her bag that had her phone in it. It literally almost broke the phone in half and they just replaced that phone.

It is worth checking out.

They also have family plans which are $90 for two years if you pay them in advance instead of monthly and only one phone has to be new or currently on insurance, not all of them.

Re: Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Asurion Upgrade & Dbrand, Skinomi or Slick Wrap Skin Opinions

Hi, thanks for the info about the insurance, I am going to take a look.

With regards to the damage question, I am clumsy for sure and I am very active, I do a lot of outdoor activities. Once I my phone flew off my road bike going 26 mph downhill and somehow not a stretch or dent or crack! (once i finally found it) So, Luckily I have never damaged my phones or mobile devices because they are all in cases with screen protectors. Also, when I throw my phone in my bag with my key, lunch for work and such I do find that when it comes out there are scratches to the tempered glass protector.

However when it comes time to sell the devices, I would rate them at a 99%. Since I have to purchase my phones outright to keep my data, I also try hard to protect the phone for a better resale value to minimize my cost for a new phone. And I carry the insurance for the loss or theft, I have lost a few phones on the mountain bike trails or when skiing. So the loss theft is important. I have to check out your links to see if there are any other options.

Thanks!

Hi linkiik121 ,

I got the phone and the skinomi wrap, however I did a TERRIBLE job with installing the back cover. Luckily Skimomi is very forgiving and as the lifetime warranty and is sending me a new back cover. Is there a special trick to getting it to look that good? I used the solution very sparingly as I am very afraid to use the liquid on a device that is not waterproof, if you have any suggestions that would be great, the biggest challenge was to get it to stay down on the sides of the phone, it kept peeling up and would not adhere. Thank you very much for your time!

And I LOVE the phone, just terrified that I am going to break it! Ended up with the UAG case and a ZAGG glass both waiting to come in the mail. Thank you again everyone.

Now if I can just figure out how to get my text messages to work on time that would be great. There is a very big delay with the notifications on the phone. When I am on my computer I see them right away however on the phone, I don't see the notification for a few hours. I am using the verizon messaging app as I sync to all of my devices so if anyone has any suggestions with this issue that would be great. Thanks!
