I'm trying to connect to wifi at work to listen to Spotify. When I looked to see why I couldn't connect this is what it said.

And this is the speed test I did yesterday.

Umm yeah. I honestly think Verizon/Samsung just want me to use more data. More money in their pockets. This is insane. Time to put as much music on my SD Card as possible.

Might mess with your settings and where it won't bounce in and out of wifi when the signal is weak.

Also load the music or use Google play if you get wifi working. If you want your music.

I've already put a few albums for offline play in Spotify and Play Music. But there are random times when I wanna listen to something else and stream. I'll see how the connection is after I install the software update tonight.

Like the previous poster said, there is a setting you have to turn off that will switch connections automatically when wifi is weak.

No it's a setting in 4.3. Also... Why would Samsung want you to? It is not extra money in their pocket... At all... It would only be Verizon.

Anyway follow the below steps and disable these settings... It will stop that from happening.

I was just thinking of the close relationship between Sammy and VZ. And all the Samsung devices I see in Verizon commercials. I don't know I didn't have breakfast yesterday and my mind was all wonky when I wrote that on my lunch/dinner. But thanks I'll see if that works today when I go into work.

Can you repost the directions, I cant see the attachments. Thanks!

Go to wifi in settings, then go to advanced settings, then Uncheck the "always allow scanning" and "auto network switch" options.

These have been two of the first options I turn off on all android phones since ICS. It causes a lot of bouncing around and battery drain.

If I turn both of those off will it still allow me to automatically connect to my home wifi when I get there? Turning off "auto network switch" I would assume no but maybe one of you all can help?

Thanks.

It should...I have left those 2 settings off since I last reset my phone and it always auto connects when I get home or anywhere with a remembered WiFi connection.
