Verizon/Samsung Offer for ex-Note 7 Users?

I've had every Note from the 1 to the 7 because my reading eyesight isn't all that great. Because I gave away my Note 5, I couldn't fall back to it when they repossessed my Note 7. This means I had to buy a S7, which I've had for 3 months that I absolutely HATE.

Does anyone know if Verizon is doing anything for Note 7 users to get them into an S8 Plus?

No, no offers. You could have gotten a new note 5 instead of the S7 edge.

Samsung did good by their customers for the most part, I am sure some didn't get taken care of that's the nature of the beast. The replaced first phone let you keep the extra gifts you got and you were able to get another gift with the replacement phone. They gave you a $25 bill credit the first recall, and they allowed us to use another new phone while waiting for the replacement note 7.

The second recall they had you trade in your phone, refunded your money and you were allowed to get phone of your choice. You got another $25 bill credit, and if you got another Samsung device you got a $100 bill credit on top of the $25. And if you got the S7 line of phones you got yet another SD card and Vr free. The ones that used a S7 for a loaner got a free gift to if you took advantage of that.

Honestly, I don't think Samsung owes us anything else except a phone that the battery issue is fixed. I went thru both recalls, they sucked, but I feel Samsung did what they could. I know some probably slipped thru the cracks and got burned, but trading in your old phone and not having a back up is not Samsung's or your carriers issue, trading in your car is the same result, if the car manufacturer recalls that car, your old car is gone.

Now there were rumors that Samsung might do something for note 7 users when the note 8 releases, but this is the S8, not the note 8, will have to wait til note 8 drops to find out if those were rumors or fact.

Samsung didn't make you buy the s7... You chose to buy it.

They also didn't repossess your note 7... You voluntarily returned it in a recall in exchange for a full refund and some small compensation.

If you didn't buy the s7 then Verizon/ Samsung would given you a small bill credit.

I too have had all 6 of the Note phones. I emailed Samsung a few weeks ago about this and they said they couldn't confirm anything until the S8 was out. Now that the phone is out, I will send them another email seeing if anything can happen.

We did voluntarily purchase the phone we have, because we really had no other choice. What phone at the time would have even come close to the Note 7? My Note 7 was my birthday present and then I had to return it, twice!! Now I know we got to keep our "gifts", but that's not what we want, we want our Note 7, and no we don't want to go backwards with these S7's, we deserve to get the latest and greatest phone which is the S8.

Wrong. You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. Verizon did eventually force N7 users to turn the phone in.

I know when I ordered my S8 on Verizon site there was a notice stating note 7 users can trade their note 7 in, so there must still be some out there.

No one came to my house and forced it out of my hands, but they essentially did repossess it. Sure, I could have kept it, but they disabled them all to get them back. So for all intents and purposes they repossessed them.

Guilty. I still have mine even after the threat of them saving they would charge me full price for the phone lol...

They physically came to people's houses and took the phones? That would be illegal and i would report it to the police. Now disabling the phones... That's a different story.

What they said^^^
Samsung did their best, Verizon did great too. I went through both recalls as well and now have an S7edge. I do not like this phone at all. Luckily husband does and I used his upgrade to get into an 8+ pre-order.

As for the special offer from Samsung, you must be talking about the offer for South Korea only, they are offering an s8 or a note 8 for all note 7 trade ins at 50% off.

Legally speaking they are only required to give you a full refund WHEN you return the phone. Samsung/ Verizon gave everyone full refunds even before you turned in the phone, gave everyone a credit between$25-100 and let you keep accessories. Really they have exceeded the legal requirements by putting you in a better position than before you bought the note 7.
