Correct..Sprint. I'm surprised by this, I would have thought that Sammy would have done all the packaging of the accessories.

There's probably an economy packaging where Verizon saved money and pocketed

Sure it does. You pay this kind of money for something and get inferior packaging.
Maybe Verizon should start shipping the actual phones in ZipLoc sandwich bags.

Also the cable on the Verizon headphones is not braided while all the others are.

We are talking about the same Verizon that use to put their logo obscenely on the front or back of the phone. Also they use to not give you any headphones in their packaging. No matter what Verizon will always do things differently.

Sorry but when I buy a phone I am not taking into consideration the packaging or accessories, i.e., headphones, braided or not. If they could deliver the phone in brand new condition in a zip-loc bag, then fine with me. I got the Verizon version from BB and the headphones are braided in plastic bags, they won't sound any different than the non-braided ones. Like I said I'll never use them. if the concern is a matter of excess plastic bags vs wrapped in cardboard who is making that decision? Why is there different packaging. Is it Samsung or the carriers making that decision?

Verizon includes earbuds as long as they are released by the manufacturer in the US that way. They are normally included with Apple, Samsung, Google and they used to include them when they sold HTC. As an example LG has not been including earbuds in US models.

This thread made me lol. It's just going to get pulled out of the packaging anyway. There is literally no reason that this matters. If you're that offended that the phone comes with inferior packaging, buy an unlocked one next time or just support another company.

Agreed.... personally the packaging isn't worthy of contention but everyone has a right to discuss it. Braided wire is more durable but they usually have a weak spot at connection points.

OG Samsung users know there was a time when Verizon/At&t models didn't recieve headphones. Case in point the note 4. The packaging is different for every carrier not based on being a U.S or international model.

The Note 4 was years ago. LG had variants based on geography that not only limited earbuds but audio and memory configurations. Verizon did limit available colors.
Regardless at the moment the difference seems to be packaging for the S10

If you read the earlier comment it was about Verizon being different which I pointed out. Doesn't matter the years or time. Point is this isn't Verizon's first time on having packaging different from other carriers.

Does packing really matter when you come down to the performance of the phone? No. But I’d argue that it does matter. This is a luxury item. We all pay a premium for it and expect the presentation to reflect that. It’s like going out to an expensive dinner and getting a filet served on a paper plate with plastic utensils. You’d be disappointed because presentation is part of the experience. Your steak is going to taste the same whether it’s served on fine china or paper, but your bill for the latter should be less.
There’s also the issue of more eco friendly packaging. I know I’d prefer it to plastic. We cause enough waste with the phones themselves, so if the packaging is recyclable I’m all for it.

I would argue that your example doesn't make sense. There is utility value to having metal utensils. Plastic bends, breaks, etc. Affects the overall usability. Plastic bags don't affect anything but your senses.

It wasn't until Apple started a trend with fancy packaging that anyone cared. Remember when iPods came in plastic boxes called jewel cases?

If I’m going to drop $50 on an eyeshadow palette I expect both performance and nice packaging. Because honestly I can get some pretty decent shadows at the drug store for under $10 but the packaging is cheap and ugly. Packaging is part of the experience.

That said, if I based my purchases solely on packaging and aesthetics I probably would have been sucked into the Apple world instead of Android all those years ago. Instead I went with the HTC Eris as my first smartphone purchase.
