Verizon unlocked Note 8 on metroPCS

I just purchased a Verizon unlocked Note 8 and I am using metroPCS service. I currently use a Verizon unlocked S8+ on metroPCS with great success and have no problems so I assume I will have just as great service using the Note 8. My question is is how come when I insert my metroPCS sim card into my Note 8 it will still have the Verizon boot load screen. If I insert a T-Mobile sim card the phone will restart and load T-Mobile apps with T-Mobiles boot load screen and same goes for AT&T. My S8+ did the same when I inserted my metroPCS sim card it will not load the metroPCS boot screen animation. Anybody know the reason why this is happening?
