I downloaded the update and immediately after my phone started freezing and restarting. It happens about 10 times a day, Anyone else having the same issue? VZW is just telling me to factory reset but I always seem to lose some photos, contacts etc. so I try to avoid that.

Honestly, my phone was slow for a few days after the update. It seems to be stable now.

No issues from the update other than being a little laggy for a few days.

Mod Note, Cleaned up some posts. Let's keep things on topic.

I wiped the cache partition but unfortunately I'm still having the issue. Won't a factory reset still keep the newest update on the phone? VZW is saying my only option is to have them send me a new phone. I know the issue is the update, it started happening immediately after. Phone restarts at least 10 times a day.

Factory reset keeps the update, but perhaps an app didn't update correctly when you updated the firmware (you probably noticed a step where it "optimized" each app during the update process).

Is there a way I can fix that without having to do a factory reset? I updated all of my apps manually and I am still having the issue. A VZW rep said the same thing but they had no suggestions besides a factory reset.

You should make sure your stuff is in the cloud then factory reset it. Really is the best when an update causes issues.

But if the update will still be on the phone and I put everything back after the reset how will that fix it?

In case one of the apps installed badly - each time you do a firmware update Android rebuilds all the app installs. A factory reset forces each app to then reinstall completely fresh.
