Verizon Version info from Google Rep...

I'm not sure if your gonna get it from Verizon or from Google. But I ordered mines from Verizon yesterday because I read that wifi calling will not work but someone from reddit who has the phone used a Verizon sim card on the Google pixel and said that the wifi calling worked. Now I'm thinking of switching my order to Google Store when it comes back from out of stock then I wouldn't have to worry about the Verizon updates.

Interesting. Let's see what happens

I don't believe anything a Verizon Rep tells anyone! They have to make the sale and have a objectives...daily, weekly, & monthly!

If this is true there wouldn't be much reason for a Verizon customer to order the phone from the play store. For me, if it's confirmed Verizon will not interfere with updates I won't hesitate to order from Verizon. I haven't had a reason to unlock the boot loader since my HTC Droid Incredible days.

Google's protection plan (if you're interested) is the only difference I'm aware of if this is accurate.

So today's news is that Verizon won't delay the system updates and that they will be simultaneous.. Makes me want to go get it from Verizon if it's actually in Stock.. That's the only reason though. Only thing that worries me is not being able to flash factory images. I haven't rooted my 6p yet but being able to flash the images to update and it wait for Ota is really nice

Verizon still has pre-orders open, with delivery scheduled on 10/20. Verizon must've gotten a good chunk of stock, or the vast majority of people ordered through the Google Store (it's probably that). I think some folks stated that they have orders scheduled for mid to late November. So, you should be able to walk in to a Verizon store on release day and be good.

We'll see!
I give Verizon a 50/50 chance of keeping their word. If this were the case, then it means that Verizon is short-circuiting their normal testing period. They told me one thing about missing updates via phone, and a completely different thing to the FCC. Personally, I don't think even Verizon employees know what's really going on.

This article and revelation today was enough for me to pull the trigger on pre ordering the 128gb quite black from Verizon. :)

I'll be cancelling my pre-order from google. (I was only able to get the 32 there...) Will be nice not having space anxiety! Lol. Quite a jump to 128 from 32!

I'm assuming the Verizon version will have Hotspot blocked?
Has not been the case with Verizon plans since the tiered data plans became a thing 4(?) Years ago.

Grandfathered unlimited data plans are the only ones that need to worry about this.

I'm on unlimited still that's my worry. Though I don't use hotspot very often
