Verizon..... we what are you waiting for?

On what? What I posted? Why would Google lie about that?
Not lie. Simply not know VZW's plans. None of the unlocked phones that claim to support vzw features have fully done so and VZW is completely unsympathetic to their problems. I don't doubt your sincerity nor Google's I just don't believe everything will come pre-installed on the phone (t-mobile users getting vzw features?) and since not preinstalled although vzw could make them available I do not believe they will. They never have.

Oh... They might give you vzw navigator! LOL

Only thing my Moto X Pure Edition is missing is WiFi calling on Verizon.

Odd that they withheld wifi calling. Almost as though they intentionally wish to make unlocked versions not quite as good as if purchased from them

You're mixing bloat apps with OS features. Wifi calling was built into Android and as long as the carrier works with it... You're good. This is different than having a bloat of the navigator app.

You're welcome to believe what you want but I don't remember companies saying it would work with wifi calling for VZW then it didn't. People just assumed it did. This time we have confirmation.

The LOL was meant to indicate I was joking and previous poster pointed out wifi calling doesn't work in moto unlocked phone. I see no reason it will in google phone. Could be other things too like hotspot or missing bands of lte. Impossible to predict. If it turns out everything DOES work (I hope) I would buy from google not vzw to get unlocked bootloader

I'll check when I get mine to see. I'll snag my buddies VZW SIM. The article there says Google said it'll work but it is possible they could have meant just the VZW Pixel and just failed to mention the difference.

Actually just learned from the AC article that it won't support HD or WiFi calling. That's what I get for trusting that article from the "other source" haha. Sounds like they didn't quote Google right.. Or Google didn't specify. Either way it sounds like only the VZW one will do the VZW features.

Sorry.. I was wrong! 😅

That's what I was trying to say all along.

I would think displayed in a store the V20 would attract more interest than the Pixel. Pixel fans are a unique group. Most will preorder or buy from google. I hope vzw isn't delaying v20 thinking there will be an overwhelming demand for pixel, another huge phone with small screen. If I wanted a 5.5 inch phone I'd have edge 7

I was simply going off what Google was quoted in that article. As I said -- either quoted wrong or the information was displayed wrong. Still makes me sad though. Sucks VZW does that to unlocked devices when it isn't needed.

Too bad the marketing budget will go into the Pixel then.

It can't possibly help. Most users want features. The pure Android experience to them means Samsung. Pixel has no features at all. Just a nice screen and a body too big for a mid sized screen

Right now Pixel does have exclusive features but probably not for long.

I assume that you mean VR? That is an accessory not a feature. A feature would be ir blaster or stereo front facing speakers or retina scanner unlocking or shatter proof screen or water proof or tiny bezels etc. Something unique built into the phone making it different and better than other phones. The entire point of vanillaAndroid is it includes nothing. Nexus fans revel in its blandness. Most of the public has never even heard of Nexus or Pixel and won't get the excitement of a vanilla phone with huge bezels and the price of a premium phone yet none of a premium phones unique add on features.

I meant software exclusive features.

Pixel? OK I'll bite. What are the software exclusive features? Please don't say that poor man's Siri? Even Apple users don't bother with that.

V20 would sell better but the window is closing. With N7 in disfavor V20 has a huge opportunity... NOW

Actually Gear VR is most definitely a proprietary feature of the Note series. No parsing it :)
