Verizon when using a hotspot -wifi

Hello,

Just recently when using a hotspot with Verizon, it makes me shutoff wifi. I have an unlocked phone, any suggestions on how to use both?

I know of no phone that allows both. Not sure why you would either.

The phone is using WiFi as the LAN connection, so it can't also be using it to connect to the LAN. You connect to the internet by mobile data, then share it with other devices over WiFi.

You can't use WiFi to both connect to the internet and share the internet. As @mm5 said, not only does no phone allow that, no phone CAN "allow" that. It would be like using your router to get internet by WiFi (A hotspot is just the phone turned into a router - internet in, WiFi out.)

That's been normal behavior for every phone I've used on Verizon since 2012.
