Verizon Wifi tab options

Ok I just bought my wife a VZW Tab for our anniversary 199.99 seemed like a good price, and have a question. ( i tried to find it first) Do we have to allways use the data plan or can we turn that off at home and use the wifi we have, and then turn it on when we want to. I got the 1gb plan for now and dont know if that will be enough.Thanks for any help

Just turn on your wifi when you are at home, and the G-tab should connect. Wifi doesn't use your cellular data. But whenever your not in a wifi zone, it will be using your data.

I would just leave wifi on all the time. Battery is great so it shouldn't matter if you are not in range.
