Verizon Wireless really hates the rezound.

Ok so after the wifi issue with the rezound, they sent me a razr Maxx, and I really hated it. So today I went in to the corp store to buy a case for it, and started talking to the sales rep about how much I missed my rezound. The rep started to tell me about all the problems the rezound has, and it is not a good phone. The max is soooo much better, which I really disagreed with. Anyway I ended up selling the max back to Verizon and getting the sg3 which I am happy with. I just wish they would stop ignoring the rezound, and saying how bad the phone is I really believe the problem I was having could have been fixed with a software update, but heck they won't even update the phone officially to ics yet.

the only way that Verizon will ever love you is if you buy a new phone every 2 months....after 2 months you are old news

im not surprised...they promoted the rezound for like 2 months and thats it... and lets not forget the almost year long wait of ICS

Verizon reps have a vested interest in degrading any phone that isn't currently a top selling device. The rezound is still an awesome phone. Almost no display compares to it, I experience no lag in any app, and the phone works as a phone (what a novel idea!) I do miss the kickstand from the thunderbolt on occasion. And while being stuck 2 OS upgrades behind isn't ideal, it's the way verizon operates. Thankfully, I've had zero issues with this phone exactly like it is, and my old school xoom has kept me current on the upgrade features, so I don't feel terribly left out and will be ready to use the new features when they arrive. Last I read, ICS is expected on the Rezound before August so that leaves them few days to make good on it or further alienate diehards waiting for their updates lol

Verizon representatives have a tendency to ignore any phone that doesn't have the word "Droid" directly in its name.

Yeah they do.... Like the Galaxy S3 and iPhone. Also, other than the display, the Maxx IS better than the Rezound. Just like the S3 is better than the Maxx, and the Rezound was better than the Bionic. It's okay to admit that new phones are better.

If by better you mean a bigger battery, then yes, but they are the same age. The Max is the exact same phone as the Razr, which came out a week before or after the Rezound. I have both a Razr and Rez in the house, and the only way I would like the Razr better is if that giant slab of phone had a 5" screen, but it doesn't. No phone blows any phone out of the water right now anyway. The specs of the S3 are all fine and dandy, but what app can take advantage of if yet? What app can take advantage of the Rezound or Razr? Maybe 3 games?

But non of this matters, as was said, if we get AOSP, because the only phone that IS better, is running Jelly Bean.

With the exception of the dinc 4g. No advertising banners in my store, no talk of it. Gs3 had a banner facing inwards, meaning that you can see it as you are leaving the store.

Yes, the battery is the primary reason. And I will tell you why........when you buy a smartphone, how often do you yourself or people you associate with have to reign in the phone to preserve battery life? How often do you decide against a particular setting, app, or widget simply because you KNOW it will lay waste to your battery? (Screen Brightness, amnt of widgets in use, social media notification settings, email pushes, apps that run constantly in order to perform, etc....)

When you have a battery that is the size of the Maxx, you do not have to worry about it. Therefore, you can truly unleash the phone. The Rezound has a better camera, and a better display than the Maxx. And there's lots of things that HTC does better than Moto (Sense vs. Blur). I just prefer to have a smartphone that I can truly unleash and not worry about. I can use whatever widgets and apps I want and I don't worry about the battery. So don't downplay the importance of battery size. It truly does make a world of difference.

You can have the best phone on the market, but if you have to plug it in by lunch time every day, and then as soon as you get home......then you are a slave to the outlet and might as well have a tethered land line. I am not bashing the Rezound, cause I used one in the store and it was very impressive. But the enormous battery on the Maxx just tips the scales and puts it at an advantage.

Wow to unleash your phone... My phone runs at full brightness. I don't worry about the battery. Granted I'm able to have a plug near me almost at all times so i don't care about battery life. Tethered land line.. the last time i checked my landline couldn't be charged or plugged into my car. To say another phone is better then another just because of one feature is thinking very short sighted. I look at all the other phones out and non of them blow me away. Each one is just a small upgrade to something else IMHO. But to come to our forums where you are going to find people who enjoy the heck out of thier rezound and start talking smack toward it and not expect someone to react is bordering on silly. Now if you know that someone would react then you are just trolling for the reaction in which case I'd like to refer you back to your correct forums and request you to kindly not come back if you do not have anything positive to say. Have a great time

I'd agree with you, if it weren't for this:

OEM HTC Extended Battery 2800 mAh

When you have one of those in your phone and you carry two spare batteries in your pockets, you can go almost a week before having to charge. It also allows me to keep EVERYTHING on at max brightness and stream music and videos constantly without worrying about a charger.

All batteries run out eventually, but having replaceable extended batteries is far better than being a "slave to the outlet", which is inevitable when your phone is stuck with only ONE single 3300 mAh battery.

I agree! I have the extended battery - run my Rezound from 6am until 11pm - use features a lot and still have plenty of power left when I turn it off (40% - 50%). :)

I have 3 OEM standard batteries and 2 external battery chargers. My phone is never on a charger and my phone is never dead. It is hands down the best solution as I have a fully functional phone with the one of the best screens that never has to be plugged in. Picked up the rezound for $50, 2 extra batteries on Amazon for $10, and the external chargers for $12 on ebay. So $94 bought me a phone with better battery life than the Maxx hands down.

Keep a charger at work and a charger at home.

I've had my Rezound since February and I still love it...best phone I have ever owned. OK, I recognize that isn't saying much since I came over from Blackberry...but it is an outstanding phone!

I have a RAZR and Rezound....and I actually agree with the Verizon rep. With problems with the Rezound and about the Maxx. I wouldnt say soo much better....but I guess thats his job, to try to sell you a phone...lol.

You are preaching to the choir.....lol. I get what you are saying tho. I would also argue and say.....overall....the RAZR, Maxx had the better display. Overall. I saw a Bionic again today....and I seriously dont see whats wrong with that display. Looked at the battery icon and other things. I just looked at it at my normal viewing distance. I couldnt really hold it closer....it was attached to a short cord. and attached to an HDMI cord.

I can say that the battery was never a problem with the rezound once purchased an extended battery. I was able to do anything I wanted to do and not be tethered to an outlet. I like the ease of sense, and the overall build of the phone. I just could not tolerate the times I had to do a restart on my phone to get my 4g back on after I left a wifi area. And maybe I am biased when it comes to the Motorola android phones, I just don't like them or Motoblur. I used to have Nextel before the merge with Sprint and all their phones were Motorola and they had awesome radios. I just have to get used to Samsung now and pray that Htc comes out with another phone that has some of the features that the rezound has.
