Android Central Question

I got a new trac phone (Samsung A10e) last month and tried to see if it could be rooted. In doing so, I took note of the different numbers of the firmware and downloaded the exact firmware for my phone make, model and country. In an unrelated incident, my phone stopped working. My carrier sent me a new sim card and had me do a factory reset.

My phone is working but I now I have a different firmware version. I tried to install the apps that I had on my phone before the factory reset and several of the apps that were installed and running fine on my phone before the reset now don't even show up when I search for them at the play store. If I install from a backup, I get an error that says it is not suitable for my new version of android.

I tried to flash the original firmware I had downloaded previously with odin. I followed the guide here but I get an error that says complete (write) operation failed. The original firmware was S102DLUDS2ASJ1. The new version is S102DLUDS3ATA1. Is there a way for me to do a factory reset to the original version or is Odin the only way to revert back? And if so, can you tell me where I might be going wrong please?

On my phone, I enabled USB debugging but there is no option to unlock the bootloader. Using Odin, I put BL from the download in the BL box, AP from the download in the AP box etc. I wasn't sure of which CSC file to use but after reading some things on here, I went with using the CSC_OMC_TFN file. Under options the only things I have ticked are the "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time". Any help or advice you could offer would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

A factory reset doesn't change the firmware.
You changed it in odin thinking it was what you were on , so sammobile website has firmware to download and flash the one you previously was on .

If you have futher questions ,I'll leave a Link to register so you can communicate here as a guest account you can only post questions but can't reply.

Thank you so much for the quick reply... I do have an account here. I didn't realize I hadn't signed in. Ok, When I checked to see if it could be rooted, I downloaded the firmware in correspondence to the information I got from dialing *#1234# on my phone but never flashed anything. All the posts I read said it could not be rooted and I didn't want to take the chance and brick my phone. I'm positive of the firmware I had previously because I wrote it down. Yesterday, I did try to flash with the firmware I had written down but I got an error that said complete (write) operatio failed.

So, I guess my question to you is, if it can't be changed from a factory reset, do you know how it changed. More importantly, do you know how I can change it back?

Hi, welcome!
Possible it had a software update , if your software is up to date why do you want to downgrade?

Like I stated in my original post, several of my apps won't run. At the play store, they don't show up in a search. If I install them from a backup, if it even starts, it'll say the app isn't compatible with this version of android but mostly, it just doesn't run at all.

If it failed after partially installing on a rooted phone, as Mustang said, adding those files did install, may now show what you show. Have you considered starting all over again and getting a successful install?

I'm sorry for the delay. I've been sewing face masks for our healthcare workers and I had to get an order done. Ok, I'm on android version 9 and One UI version 1.1. I'm so sorry for the confusion but my phone is not rooted. I looked into rooting it when I first got it a month or so ago but read that you can't unlock the bootloader, therefore it is unrootable. I took note of the PA, BL, CP and CSC numbers and downloaded the appropriate firmware but never flashed it. I had to do a factory reset for an unrelated reason and when I tried to find and install some of my favorite apps, either I couldn't find them or I got an error that it wasn't compatible with my version of android. The thing is, before the factor reset, they were all running fine. And I'm not sure what you mean. When you say "start all over again" do you mean do a factory reset? If so, I'm open to doing that if you think it will help. :)

I dont think at this moment a 2nd factory reset is necessary, those app not working try uninstall and install again possibly they got hung up during your factory reset
