Very Close To Buy The Nexus 6

Dude honestly, I don't even read your comments anymore, they're just to long. Just thought I'd let you know.
No need - your absence of acknowledgement of any posts that suggest other than what you advise has been widely noted. My post was simply to provide a more functional view on battery life.

NOTE TO RAY: SHORT VERSION
A phone whose battery lasts 1 1/2 days does not offer any real benefit over a phone whose battery lasts 1 full day if you only need the 1 day's charge and are going to be charging nightly anyway. Once you have that full day covered, prioritizing the benefitless feature of additional battery life over real benefits from getting your preference of screen size/resolution, OS, or other features that have tangible benefits is a surefire path to buyer's remorse or a sour grapes mentality.

Feel free to provide any logic behind which you'd justify an argument otherwise and I'll be happy to discuss; otherwise, I'll assume you are in agreement with me.

Battery life will always be subjective. It depends on how the device is used. You can't even compare them unless you used them at the exact same time for the exact same application. Even then its not full proof.

I carry both my iPhone 6+ and nexus 6 with me. I try and use both equally. Tues and Wed this week my iPhone battery had slightly more juice at the end of the work day. Today my nexus had more. I'd say both batteries are good, can't decide which is better. Based on the comments on this thread I was concerned the nexus battery wouldn't stand up to the test. However I am pleasantly surprised. Then again I plug my phones in every night to make sure I am at full capacity in the morning.

Tell that to Ray.

Tell that to Ray.

He provided user experience, as I did. Just because his experience supports what you believe to be true doesn't mean I didn't experience better battery life with the iPhone.

Again do you even own either device?

The difference is, you added the statement "if battery life is super important to you than immediately scratch the nexus 6 off your list" without qualification, completely ignoring the degree to which others might actually use the device. He made an observation, but didn't presume to know how heavily others would use their phone.

I can add that in the brief time I had the Nexus 6 (3 days), it's battery life was not nearly as good as my 6+. ... but my 6+ doesn't have a 5.96" display 2K display either. The battery life of the Nexus 6 is good enough I believe but it is not the device I would recommend if battery life is of paramount importance to you. ... at least not based on my 3 days of experience with it.

I couldn't compare the iPhone 6 Plus battery life to the Nexus 6, but I can compare it to the Note 4 that has nearly identical specs and from what I read has about the same battery life, if not better, than the Nexus 6. When I had my Note 4, at the end of my work day, I was at about 50 percent. Which is amazing to me considering how much I use my phone throughout the day. My phone brightness was at about 30 percent most of the time. And usually I didn't have wifi or bluetooth enabled for most of the day. I would only use bluetooth when I was in the car. But I'm sure what hit my battery the most was that I used the s-pen with my Note 4 all day long. So 50 percent from 6am to about 5pm is really good. With my iPhone 6 Plus, I can go the same stretch and have about 70 percent battery left. I keep brightness on 50 percent, but I leave wifi and bluetooth on all day. However, without the s-pen, I found myself using the iPhone 6 Plus a lot less at work than I normally would. Instead of taking notes on my phone, I would just take notes on my iPad because it was easier and more convenient. And because all of my texts and calls are forwarded to my iPad, I can just put the iPhone to the side most of the time. With the Nexus 6, I'm sure I would probably use it much in the way I use my iPhone 6 Plus. So, if it gives me anywhere near what the Note 4 was giving as far as battery life, then it would be perfectly fine for me.

I'm lucky that I can plug in at my desk and I'm never to far from a charger. So battery has never been an issue for me. I'm gonna hope for the best with it.

I'm getting 20 hrs with 5 hrs SOT (yeah, the stats on GSAM Battery app are getting better over time)......

Exactly Ed, I spend a lot of time on it and the battery life can't hold up.

And finally, we get the details of your battery issue.

Short, explains your personal experience, and then gives your conclusion on how and why the phone doesn't work for you. The only thing that is lacking is your specific stats, but I know you haven't had the phone for a few months so you are excused on that point.

I appreciate that your tone is migrating from less damning to more data.

Nobody ever called you dishonest. Your "believe to be true" statement implies you are calling the rest of us dishonest. And that attitude has infected your posts. I keep posting my stats, and you've refused to acknowledge them as helpful. I suppose that's because, despite my screen shots, you think I'm fabricating them?

Until today, you've never put it in personal terms. Had you done that from the start, your repetitive posts would be understandable, and appropriate. In fact, I'd have appreciated your comments because they'd have helped those who, like you, spend all day on their phone to decide what to do.

Frankly, the amateur psychologist in me would suggest that your bitterness has its foundation in your feeling we are the ones guilty of calling you the liar.

I thought you returned your Nexus last November??????

That's what he said in one of the many threads he has posted in declaring horrible battery life on the device. I wonder if he ever owned one at this point.

Many people have experienced improvement over a week or so (Ray, settle down, I'm not saying EVERYBODY, and I won't count the number of posts that have mentioned this, so don't accuse me of lying).

Are you like Ray and use the phone "all day" ;)?

Also, can you post your stats? That will allow someone considering the phone to put your comment into context.

I've used the Note 4, Nexus 6, and 6 Plus. For me, the worst battery life of that group is the Nexus 6. But it is in no way bad. For my use, it wasn't as good as the others, but lasted me a day easily if I didn't abuse it. So it's a non issue. It's also nice if you have Qi chargers laying around, which the others don't have.

On a side note, I was able to basically kill the Note 4 and 6 Plus battery in one day, too, so it's still possible with those phones. It all depends on use. The 6 Plus did last the longest typically, but I also found myself messing with it less than the other ones. IOS bored me too much. I'm now switching back to a Nexus 6 from my Note 4 because I miss stock Android, and my experience with the battery was just fine. Try using a Nexus 5 for awhile and then switch to the 6, you'll be more than pleased with the battery life of the 6.

I don't have either phone any more but had both close to a month. The iPhone 6 plus was probably the best battery life I ever got on a phone besides my Xperia z2. I in no way think the nexus had bad battery life but if I unplugged at 6am I needed to charge by about 530 pm. With the iPhone It still had about 20% by 10pm. Now that's with my use, which is heavy. As someone else said the nexus is pushing more pixels and has a larger display so I never expected perfect battery life. It was still LOADS better than my nexus 5.

There are quirks and different things I've had to get used to, but in the end the N6 is the best mobile device I've ever owned. Wouldn't go back for nothing
