Yeah only reason why I went with Verizon is cause I got the rebate instantly cause of my corporate discount. You gotta wonder if Verizon kinda planned this. There's nothing but upside to them bringing the mail in rebate back.

I'm in the same boat. I'm still using my first smart phone I've ever owned (a Motorola Droid 3). It is almost two years old, and starting to show its age. It is very slow, takes ages to open an app, won't make calls (usually), and sometimes when I go to text, it will not put the characters into the texting field. There are a more problems, but I just learn to deal with them. Plus it never gets any more updates, and I'm still rocking android 2.3.4.
My contract was up April 30th, and I was so stoked to see that that was the time that the S4 was suppose to be released. And I waited and waited to see the official release date, with most carriers confirming a date around there. And then Verizon confirmed their date.. a month later... Now I have to deal with my Droid 3 for another month while Verizon is busy loading their Bloatware and etching their logo on my S4.
But on the plus side, it gives me a month to read reviews about it and see if it is as good as everyone is making it out to be. As well, I can see what Google has in store, if they announce the Motorola X phone at I/O this month. Or perhaps an LTE NExus 4 that will work with Verizon. At this point, any phone will be a HUGE upgrade over my current one

Ok so this may not mean anything and I'm probably being super hopeful and/or reading too much into nothing but i was doing my daily stalking of verizon (hanging my head in shame...lol) and i noticed that when i first pre ordered the S4 my upgrade eligibility was still in tact for a few days up until i checked my verizon account the other day. Now my upgrade has been used obviously but now my account says so....it reflects it and says I've recently purchased a phone that needs to be activated. Also and again this is just my obsessive want of my phone but when i checked about the S4 when you click on the pre order button before there was a red circle with the shipping date of May 30th now thats gone. There is no expected shipping date when you go through the process of pre ordering. I don't know if its just Web page error or wishful thinking on my part. Damn it verizon I'm going nuts lol

my upgrade date is 5/24. in my case, i'm just waiting for launch day and i'll take my chances in the store. you might get it a few days earlier if you pre-order but who really knows when it comes to verizon.
No offense but you suck lol (jk) .... I thought you pre ordered through verizon and yours was out for delivery not that you bought an unlocked phone. I got all happy lol

If you have AT&T, you can call CS and they can shorten your upgrade period, might even give u one on the spot

I know it may suck now, but will definitely pay off in the long run. I'd have my sights set on the Note III or Nexus 5 if I were you... Then everybody here with our S4s will be jelly.
