What's the best app for video chat that uses the front camera? I need it to be free and compatible with the 3D and 4G...I was using yahoo messenger with their plug in but it won't read the front camera on the 3D...

Yeah, I think Qik comes on the EVO out of the box. I doubt there are any video chat apps that support 3D yet. The EVO 3D is the first 3D phone, if I remember correctly.

I wish Skype was free for the phone, then I could talk to my sister and mom...which is why i was using yahoo, but it doesn't support the front camera on the 3D...I will try qik...I wasn't meaning to support 3D video chat, just meaning to support the front camera of the E3D...

Front cam is not 3d so there is actually no such thing as it supporting 3d.

Qik works great for me phone to phone. Does Tango work phone to PC? Is it confirmed that Skype doesn't do phone (front camera) to PC nor phone to phone?

Is there one I can use to talk to my friends that have iPhones? or right now is that option not available?

When Skype acquired Qik, I expected to see some sort of Skype integration for Qik, or a better Skype for Android. But then, Skype was acquired by Microsoft...

I cannot attest to the quality of the app, because I don't have the ability to test it out just yet, but Vtok is an option available in the Market. However, I have attempted a call and it rang, but no on answered. Vtok works with your Gtalk contacts. You log in with your Google account information and the contacts that have a video option are listed.

Anyone use Vtok? Experiences?

Isn't the next itteration of android (2.2.4?) supposed to have google talk built in video chat? I mean that solves this whole nonsense and trust me google dropped the ball on this bs. They should have had this integration built in from a long time ago already. There's no reason to have 10 different apps spread across 3 different mobile os's not to mention then having to worry about getting your friends/family to install whatever ******ed app you need to use for your phone. It's really silly. Imo skype should have it built in for android and if they don't/won't then google needs to just do it. It's thier os from christ sake and this way no need for you to get everyone on board with whatever the flavor of the month video chat app is that we're running around using. Tango, OOvo, skyp, qik and whatever else is on the market ..bah...google talk period. Everyone has access to it on their pc's and every android should have it on the phone and no problems.

Qik was only for Sprint customers originally I believe, though it is now available for T Mobile people too.

I've been using Tango, as it works for people with iPhones and other Androids not on Sprint.

Skype going exclusive with Verizon f'd us all. Everyone and their mom in Taiwan uses Skype on their computers as well...it should have been on android too with video chat. Now it doesn't and we are all scattered

I've used VTok and it's pretty cool, room for improvements. it lets you actually call without having to use video chat, and gives that option when answering.
