Video issue - video on screen stops or pauses for a second then resumes

While using my Nexus 10 since a recent update, it seems that the screen pauses for a second thus making whatever app I'm using look jumpy. The video on the screen itself gets stuck for a second and then resumes. It seems to be happening all the time no matter what app I'm using. Any ideas on to approach fixing this?
