video on phone now locked

I started streaming a video on Galaxy S2. I wanted to pause it and when I touch anywhere on the screen a white lock appears. I can't do anything now. The video is playing but I can't even navigate back to the home screen, bring up Settings...anything. I have no idea how it got there or how to get rid of it.
