Video Player = ridiculously unnecessary data hog

So as we all know, Video Player is an insanely bad resource hog...Well, what alternatives are you using, to replace it?

I'm looking for an nice video player that doesn't hog squeeze your data

What's wrong with the Video Player? I use it in a popup window or full screen for several hours a day. I haven't noticed an excessive amount of hog squeezing. Neither have I found another player that I like as much. It handles meta-data better then any other player I have tried, and I love the popup feature.
