Is it possible to view Contacts in Landscape w/out Sliding out the Physical Keyboard. I can't seem to do it. When I turn the Droid on its side, it does not shift into Landscape mode like other screens do. It only does it when I slide out the keyboard.

Anyone else have this problem? Solution?

I dont believe ALL screens will work in both portrait and landscape. I dont think they can fit enough on the screen to make it worth using it in landscape with the keyboard so they keep it portrait unless the keyboard is slid out.

I have a similar question. I could swear that when I turned the phone sideways while on the home screen it would rotate. It does it when I slide the keyboard open. As soon as I close the keyboard, it goes back to portrait. I put it in the cradle and it rotates. I remove it from the cradle and it doesn't rotate back to portrait. It stays on landscape mode for about a minute. Previously when removing from the cradle and holding it upright it immediately goes to portrait mode.
Anyone else experience this or am I mistaken about the home screen going to landscape when I rotate the phone?

I just got my cradle yesterday, and I will say the whole device seems to slow down for a minute after removing it, so maybe that's in line with what you're saying.

Try going to settings, then display and make sure you have "Orientation" checked so it will rotate. If it is not checked, it will stay portrait unless keyboard is opened.

Normally when I pull it off the cradle it goes to portrait mode in about 5 seconds or so, providing I'm holding it that way.

The first thing I checked was the settings. Orientation was set on. I even un-selected Oirientation, powered the phone off and back on. Went into settings and enabled Orientation. Still didn't rotate.
Puzzling, I don't know what else to try.

Just curious, why do you want your contacts in landscape? If it is because of the challenge of searching through your contacts using the small portrait keyboard, I would recommend acontacts. That app has a t9 style keypad like the hero and Eris. Hope that helps. Cheers!

I would like my contacts to be able to be viewed in landscape mode so I can see the entire contact name. I?ve noticed that this is a problem when it is not in landscape mode. The iphone does this, I know. I wonder if there is an application that could be downloaded to get it to change to landscape mode, without having to bring open the keyboard.
