Recording video in the default mode, which results in an mp4 file gives a good result which is viewed correctly on the S3.

When I transfer the video to dropbox and then try to view it it stops after a couple of seconds. It is also rotated 90 degrees.

I just experimented with the limited mms size for emails and the resulting 3gp file in the case of my computer can be viewed with vlc player but it is enlarged and rotated.

When I transfer it to Google+ is shows in the correct orientation on my PC.

Can someone please tell me how to save a video and view it correctly, other than in google+?

Re: Viewing transferred videos - needed a new viewer

Did a little web hunting for a solution about viewing smartphone videos and came up with the suggestion to install MediaPlayer Classic, from SourceForge.

I wanted a safe download and went to CNET, which hasn't given me problems in the past, but got a link to an outside download source and a warning that they couldn't assure the safety.

During the install a screen came up asking if I wanted to install a FunTools (or something like that) toolbar. I unchecked ALL the options boxes so it would be installed...sure enough after install I had Media Player Classic, and I also had the toolbar on Firefox and IE. Closed it and reminded myself, next time better find a better download source.

Good news is that I can now view my mms and mp4 videos in the correct orientation.

Now if I want to have others view those files I guess they're going to have to update their viewers as well.

By the way, my favorite viewer is VLC, but even after I updated to the newest versions it couldn't show the S3 videos correctly.
