VIP email notifications on Gear S3?

Hi

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 and a Gear S3.
I've created a few VIP profiles in my email using the Samsung Mail app.
When an email comes in from one of those senders, my phone vibrates, but my watch does not.
I have my email settings set to notifications ON vibrate OFF/sound SILENT
but my VIP settings to vibrate ON/sound ON
This works on the phone well. I get hundreds of emails a day, so i really want to be notified only if these VIP senders hit me with a message, and it would be great if i could get notified on my watch as well.

I've tried numerous configurations, including the one you specify, and have never been able to achieve this objective.
