Visual Voice Mail App and service

I see there is a Rogers Enhanced Voice Mail app in the Play store. I downloaded it and it says I need to subscribe to the service. When I got the phone, Rogers told me they removed Visual Voice Mail from my account (iPhone) because it did not work with the S4. Was the store staff wrong?
