The Vivid's price depends on your area, but for most people, the Vivid has dropped from $199 on contract, to $99. Even if you bought it no commitment, you're still eligible for 30-day price protection. If you go back to the point of sale, you can get the appropriate amount, plus tax, refunded in the same form of payment you initially used, or a bill credit. Do it!

Isn't rooting like jail breaking? I mean, when you upgrade the software, doesn't the "root" disappear? I really need more info about that procedure, as i went to Android so that i wouldn't have to keep jail breaking my iPhone4. Thanks:-\

well i would of originally got this phone when it first came out but i had no upgrade, so was forced to wait got it 3 days ago havent put down since. even tho its been out for a couple months it seems to me it can hold its own weight and i havent realy played with, great device

Just google "root my htc vivid" great step by step instructions..I'm rooted and thing is a monster...I'm running holiraider Rom and WOW...I'm not sure if you would revert back if u upgrade...and if u do then root again...its a simple procedure

Thanks. I may just give it a shot. Just found out that i can't take a screen shot unless i'm rooted. Is that really true?

I picked up a Vivid from AT&T.com with free shipping for $99. I get it tomorrow.

Really stoked!

Moving over from Blackberry, kind of nervous and excited!

Nope, I'm stock and not rooted and can take a screenshot. Just hold power and hit the home button.

Thanks. It works great. Now, if i can just sync my gmail appointments from my Vivid to my gmail calendar, i'd be set. My appts sync with iCal, but not the gmail calendar on my Mac. Google is even my homepage, but no go with the calendar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.:)

just bought a new white vivid on clist for $240, though I had to drive 55 miles. can't wait to set this thing up. had an inspire previously.

Where is that? I only see refurbished phones for $0.01 and a white one for $49.99.
