VN playing cheap..

I've been through 3 different VM phones now over the course of a year or so (Kyocera Jax, LG Rumor Touch, now Optimus V) and all of them have gone to the 'redirect of death' on data (no data service except to VirginMobile home page) sometime on the day that a renewal payment is due. When I've had auto-topup on, the auto system doesn't charge me until midnight right after the due day has ended. This generally leaves me with no data but other services working for up to a whole day. I've learned to 'restart my service month' manually on the due date to get my data back up as soon as I notice it's down. From what I've read, VM custy service outside of tech support offices don't know about the plan-restart solution to data going down, and tell you to re-activate the phone, which won't fix the problem, since it's the network rather than the handset blocking data.

If you pay for your next month in advance, you'll avoid this headache, correct?

I've filled up my account with cash using discounted top-ups. I've manually pressed the pay button each month but I'm pretty sure it will auto deduct at the end of the month if I don't. Is this the situation which causes your data to be disconnected on the last of the month?

I paid using a card from callingmart then hit pay now and at the end of the month my service continued with no loss.

My data consistently goes down anywhere from 12-23 hours BEFORE the auto-pay kicks in. I either have to manually 'restart my plan date' or wait until midnight for the autopay to tap my VM balance.

After being with them since September and canceling and restarting once (to port an old number) I can say this. I lost data coverage on my due date when my credit card was not set for auto deduct. When I did set it, it always charged on my due date and not before, but it's always just after midnight. That's just the way their system seems to work. If you pay with a credit card or paypal anyway, just set it and forget it. Makes life easier.

I read something about topping up with a 30$ card and your phone stays active for 60 days... i think, not active as you can call someone on the 31st day but active it wont get turned off 31st day

but as for 30 days go, my account says "CHARGE WILL BE DEDUCTED ON" (the last day i paid but next month) which means that day is not counted as your plan seeing that you have to pay that day.... and it doesnt go by 30 days really.... i first got my phone feb 15, my bill was on march 15.... mind you that february only has 28 days, so i didnt recieve a full 30 days

Some people said I pay late. I disagree of that. When you talking about due date is the day you support pay and the dead line is 0400 pm on that day for most bill or credit card payment. Which mean I can pay them from 0100 am midnight to 0400 pm. If I pay the after 0400 pm that consider pass due. Hope reader here know what between due date and pass due.

VM cut data connection at 0100 am on due date. So, from 0600 am that wake up I get no data connection. I called vn rep, the toll me to re-activate my phone. I thought my phone problem. Untill lunch time, I purchase top up card and fill in and I get my data work now after. Thats what i was mean.

Now you know that you need to pay a day early.
Whats the problem 99% of the people responding are ok with paying a day early.

As the poster above says he got his phone on the 15th of Feb and his bill was due March 15 and Feb doesnt ever have 30 days. IMO the only person being cheap is you. Complaining about a loosing a day that costs less than 85cents is kinda trivial.

And he only loses a day if he ever stops his plan. Otherwise, he gets the exact same number of days of service as long as he pays a day earlier than the due date. The only money you'd lose is the interest you could have accumulated from the bank on that one day.

F@ck no, Im not going to pay them early on next payment. If you have asked VM rep or done a search on each month you pay them a day earlier with your top up card, you need will be due a day earlier. (ie, if your payment due today Mar 19, if you pay them at Mar 18. You next payment will be due at Apr 18. Understand if you call me cheap lol. We are talking right monthly payment is pay on each month. Thank for your kindly info. Do a search before you juges people cheap.

Actually, that's not true at all. My payment was last payment was due on March 6th. I paid on the 4th. My next payment is due on April 6th. The payment date stays the same even if you pay early. For me at least..?

I can confirm this as I usually pay two to three weeks in advance. Nothing changes about my due date.

I pay early sometimes but only restart my plan on the due date. It's the plan restart, not the payment, that changes the due date.
it's also the plan restart which fixes the data down on the due date.

Sh!t, the cheap VM rep lie to me.. They toll, they will reset due on day I pay.

Wait, do you guys pay by Credit card, paypal or top up card? When I asked them refill by top up card, and they said, they'll reset due date on day refill.

Anaother complaint... do you guy realize they charged 2 min even a call last about 45 to 49 sec? When I was in Tmobile prepaid, they charged for 1 min if a call last less then 54 sec. Also, tmobile won't charge if another end don't answer the phone. AT&T will charged for 1 min even another end don't answer.

I put in $100 worth of top ups in my account, and I pay with the cash balance I have. I don't know about the minute usage because I have yet to use a single minute. Yay voip!

This guys had the signs of troll fromt he first post, but his last response confirms it.
