Voice actions speed dialing noise?

On other Android phones, I'd press and hold the magnifying glass icon and then the voice actions app would pop up. Then I'd say "Call John Smith mobile" and the app would find the contact from my phone book and dial it.

JUST BEFORE the dialing occurred, the phone would play a sound over the external speaker (only 1 second in length) that sounds like 5-8 quick phone keypad numbers being pressed.

I've noticed that the Optimus does this but only some of the time. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about and have any suggestions as to why it only happens some times? My ringer, media, notification, and call volume are all at least over 75% at all times - my guess is that there's some bug because I'll make a number of calls within a short period of time (an hour) and sometimes it will make that dialing noise when I voice dial contacts, most times it won't.

The reason I like that noise is because then I don't have to look at the phone to see if there was a mistake. The dialing sound indicates a match was found from my phone book and the dialing is about to start. In other Android phones, I believe no dialing sound would mean that I am being brought to a web search, or the phone thought I've said a business name and it is about to dial.
