Voice typing in messenger - won't pause music

Hi,

Using my new galaxy s8 and having a problem that I didn't have on the galaxy s6. If I have music playing and I want to send a text message I used to hit the microphone button on the keyboard in the message app and this would pause the music until I finished speaking my message. This no longer happens and the music keeps going after I press the microphone button, messing up my voice input. Also happens with Whatsapp.
Any ideas?
