Voicemail icon not working?

I have a voicemail icon on my home screen, the default one that was preloaded.

When I press it, it goes in to "all messages", and shows text messages and doesn't dial voicemail. This is also true even if I have an unplayed message.

Any way I can change this?

Mine does the same and I always thought it was because I have my phone set up to use Google Voice. Try going into settings>call>voice mail service and check "My carrier" then click on the icon and see if it works.

How does the voicemail icon in your main apps folder behave? If it works correctly, try removing the shortcut from your home screen and recreated it.

BTW, mine goes to "Visual Voicemail" with an area that says "click here to call voicemail." I think I did have to tap on the voicemail icon at the bottom of the screen. But it seems to remember it throgh restarts because it always comes up that way.
