Just got the Pixel last week and just noticed I'm not able to access my VM using the phone application. I hit the VM icon on the bottom right in the phone app which brings me a list of messages, however on the top of the page it say "Activaiting visual voicemail" This message has been there for days now it never fully activates the VM. If I try playing a message it first says Loading voicemail then anfter about 30 seconds it say Couldn't load voicemail.

I'm with Verizon using a unlocked Pixel Pro XL and I've tried calling cutomer support and they were unable to help. I did clear data and cache from the phone app and checked all permissions without any luck. Has anyone experieced this or have any idea of how to fix this?Screenshot_20260130-135908.png

Are you using Visual Voicemail? I mean are you subscribed to Verizon's service?

I ask because you say voicemail multiple times but only reference Visual VM when talking about the message.

Have you called Verizon? I ask this because Visual Voicemail is a service with Big Red and may not be activating because of something on their end, and you mention an "unlocked" device. In my experience, I've had to call Verizon 3 out of 4 unlocked devices due to SMS and messaging issues where they've had to do something on their end to restore my service. I've only had to do it at the beginning of service for those devices, is this a new device for you?

Did this ever work on this device in the past or is this a new device to you?

I am using the visual voice mail with Verizon and did dtop into my local dealer along with calling tech support. Neither was able to help and the rep at the store said this is a known issue when not using the Verizion application (which I don't want another app). Funny thing I also have a ZFold 7 which I also use on the same line and that works just fine.

B Diddy I did folow all thos e steps multiply times with no luck. I even stopped using my VPN service thinking that might be the issue, and it wasn't.

I've kinda just giving up at this point and just using the old school *86.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I apperciate it.

Try also reaching out to Pixel support. Go to the system settings, then Device Health & Support>Contact Support.

I tried Pixel support and their only option was to download and use the Verizon app.

Does anyone have their VM working on Verizon with an unlocked Pixel, which is on beta software?
