Voicemail replacement

I hate sprints voicemail. And now they've added ads and want me to pay to remove the ads. I'm just looking for an alternative non ads or subscription based voicemail. Paid is fine.

Edit: just checked the carriers app. It's 2.99 for the no ads and the visual voicemail together.

Are you talking about Visual Voicemail apps? They don't serve up ads if you just use the voice interface for voicemail, do they?

Anytime I click on my carriers voicemail app I see ads. They charge like 2 dollars a month to remove the ads and 3 for visual.

Do you need an app to begin with? How about just calling up your voicemail and listening? Does the app let you tap to play and pause your voicemails, as if they were sound files?

Yes it does. As well as the ability to save them as sound files.

Never even considered just calling and listening. That brings me back to the days of the non smart phones. But it should work until I find an alternative.

I've gotten a few bill credits because of the added ads. They keep promising me that they will remove them but they are always in my voicemail app.

Check out Google Voice. It's free. It also transcribes voice mails and can even email and text you the transcripts as well.

I use it with my Verizon Prepaid as Verizon Prepaid doesn't include Verizon's visual voice mail.
