VoLTE had been working fine on my unlocked Verizon S9 on Trafone (Verizon network) since I did a factory reset and clean install of the latest Android 9 firmware in Dec. 2019 using Odin.
PROBLEM:
Now VoLTE seems to still be enabled, but it always uses 1xRTT instead of VoLTE since I upgraded to Android 10
(May 6, 2020 Service Update 19 firmware.)
MORE INFO:
Texting “APN” to 611611 didn’t seem to do anything. I had to manually create APN settings, but 4GLTE data seems be working fine now.
I tried resetting network settings to fix VoLTE, but that didn’t help.
Under Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Networks, the “VoLTE calls” feature is visible, and it is enabled (“Use LTE data networks for calls whenever possible”) which seems OK.
Under “SIM card status”, “Mobile data network type” is LTE.
But “Mobile voice network type” is “1xRTT”.
Should that say LTE too?
Grateful for any help!
