Well my Fascinate finally showed up today. First impressions-screen is great, loaded Google maps, etc..seems to be working fine. One really annoying thing I noticed is the volume button is loose. If you hold the phone and shake it, you'll hear the volume rocker rattle...makes it sound like a really cheap piece of plastic. How did the phone make it past QC with something so simple to fix as that?
I tried to get GPS lock, but after running for 10 min with no luck I just quit. I'll try again later but my Evo locked right on sitting in the same spot with no issues. I'm still on the fence about this one-might be trading it for the tried and true Incredible. Honestly a bit disappointed since it's a great looking phone with lots of things going for it. And this last part isn't the phone, but Verizon, you really need to provide visual VM for free like every other carrier out there. Why would I pay $2.99 a month??
I'll play with it tonight to see if my views change...

Why would you pay $2.99 a month when Google Voice does the exact same thing for free anyway? And yes, the volume rocker is loose.

Mine doesn't do that, but I've heard a few complaints from others. I also haven't had any GPS issues like I did with the Epic. If it were me, I would exchange it for a new one.

I'm aware of that, and I don't. What I was saying is on other phones Visual VM is already included and you don't have to use an outside app to get it for free. Looks like I'll be returning this one to try again-sounds like I may have gotten a bad one. It's a bad thing when my boss picks it up and hears the rattle and asks if I broke it already...

My volume rocker was a little loose as well. I didn't mind the feel of it but every now and then I could actually hear it rattle.

The good news is that since I've purchased and installed the black soft plastic case from Verizon the volume rocker no longer rattles. I was considering a replacement unit but now I think I'm going to stick with this one. Everything else is perfect and I don't want to risk swapping a tiny problem for a bigger one.
