Android Central Question

Compared to previous Moto G phones, when I turn up or turn down the volume it seems to 'jump' like from 10 to 20 to 30 instead of smoothly going up and down. In some settings, I want the volume to fall between the 'preset options' Does anyone know how to enable more gradual volume changes?

Thanks I created an account. Apparently I already had an account but can't remember the login and couldn't do a pswd reset for some reason. Whatever.
The phone in question is a Moto G stylus. It shipped running Android 10 and is now running Android 11. I noticed this issue when upgrading from the Moto G 7 which was running Android 9. That phone, the volume would go up gradually, giving more granular control. It happens with or without a case, and was happening as soon as I took the new phone out of the box, so it seems more like either a handset or android version limitation. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this issue and if there was any workaround.

Hi, welcome to AC!

I moved your question to Moto G forums to see if any members might run into same issue

Just to be clear, you're talking about the volume through the phone's main speaker, and not through Bluetooth headphones, right?

I was talking about Bluetooth, but I just checked and it behaves the same on the phone speakers

As a follow up, I found a 'solution' sort of. Apparently this version of Android moved fine grain control of volume away from the volume rocker on the phone and nests it within an 'app volume' submenu of the app being used to play the music.

If you you use your volume rocker it doesnt show slider with something to tap to gain those submenu like in settings?
