Volume seems lower to me than my note 5... is it just me? Videos are loud but ringtone and games seem lower. Any thoughts/ suggestions?

Mine has surprised me with how loud it is.
Mine too, like the other day at work I forgot to close out the Pandora app after I arrived. It wasn't playing but the app was active. I was on a phone Call with another associate in my work area, and my Note 8 decided that was a great time to play Pandora and blast it loudly. Maroon 5's song "Cold" started playing on my Note 8 via speaker. Great loud sound, just not at the right time lol

Hahaha. Hope you didn't get in trouble😉 yeah music and video are fine. I have a couple games I play like songpop and yahtzee to kill time sometimes, they're lower for sure. And my ringtones. Used to hear them in the other room, now can barely hear it(if in the other room) maybe my hearing is going on me lol

Make sure all of your volumn settings are turned up. Like Ringtone, Media, System, Notifications and Bixby Voice.

Yea volume is definitely lower. Especially on headphojes. So much so that I'd rather just use my iPhone for that purpose.. I've tried everything to make it louder

Access your volume controls and adjust accordingly.

I don't know if this will help, but it's worth a try. In Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Volume, touch the 3 dots in the upper right corner, then touch Media Volume Limiter, then turn that on and slide the Custom volume limit all the way up.

Here's something else to try. Also under Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Sound Quality and Effects, under Equalizer select Custom, then slide ALL the sliders up to maximum.

I just posted about the earbuds/headset that came with my phone. They cut the volume in half compared to all the other earbuds I own. They were obviously defective and Samsung is send some new ones to me.

I was excited that the speaker finally got moved from the rear to the bottom, but somehow the sound quality/volume is worse than my Note 4.

I used the same exact audio file for my alarm as I used on my Note 4, but it's noticeably not as loud. I've been procrastinating on buying a small, inexpensive BT speaker for my nightstand for like 3 years now so this might finally give me the motivation I need.

I have the same probl with low volume with everything at max.
My Note 4 also much louder. I still have my Note 4 and the
difference in volume is noticeable.

Yeah I've noticed a huge difference between my Note 5 and my Note 8. Not sure why difference but it's kind of annoying

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Was starting to think I was crazy, or gone deaf lol. Not that its a good thing, but you know what I mean

Do what I did and check the volume with another set of headphones/earbuds. The sound without earbuds is loud on mine and I have a hearing disability. Earbuds make it easier for us deaf people and I'll use my old ones until the Samsung replacements come in.

It more to do about what your watching test have shown that the note 8 has better speakers then the note 5 an s8 louder an clearer
