Vote for Evo on Gizmodo!

The fact that "we" are only 7% down right now says quite a bit about the impact of the Evo and Android in general.

How long has the iphone been out and how many millions of fanboys are there out there to vote for the Apple product? I think 44% for the Evo is very respectable and probably has Jobs shaking in his boots right about now.

CNET poll has Evo ahead 56%-41%....

Both phones on that picture look in love to me... mesmerized by the others specs. But I like em beefy, the EVO looks GTL'in ;)

Funny how the polls differ depending on the bias of the site and users who frequent them.

The iPhone will win for one reason, Marketing... You don't see ads for the evo plastered all over the damn net today do ya...

Sad thing too. Apple always wins because of this, They blitz the media with advertising that simply overtakes everything better that may exist, so the people who are new to smartphones make un-informed choices... Apple Marketing 101!

(side note, While I love my evo way more then the Iphone4, Gotta admit, Their iOS4 has a lot of well needed improvements, and Im glad for the iPhone users to finally get the features they deserve!)

Well Gizmodo's sister site has a similar poll: Which Do You Prefer: iPhone or Android?

Which Do You Prefer: iPhone or Android?
iPhone 30% (9,773 votes)
Android 66% (21,911 votes)
Neither 4% (1,336 votes)
Total Votes: 33,020

Granted, I think those that frequent Lifehacker tend to be a DIY crowd, thus favoring Android. But in the grand scheme of things...WHO CARES? I know Android rocks, I know it bests the iPhone in many categories (not all, but it more than holds its own).

My biggest complaint is that the general media go on about the iPhones new front camera and photo sensor, when comparing it to the Evo, but fail to mention these exact same features on the Evo! Oh, well it all goes in cycles. At one point IBM was the biggest manufacturer of PCs, and no one ever thought that domination would end.

Sprint marketing is a bummer. This morning they were even talking about the iphone 4 on Good Morning America with a 1 second mention of Google Android, not even the EVO by name. They were talking about the video chat and it was a bummer to be holding my EVO in hand screaming out at the TV like, HELLO, do you want to video chat on a phone, through the actual phone, PICK EVO!

On behalf of Sprint & Google I accept this challenge to be a front line marketer.

Apple / iPhone is losing it's customer base in the first quarter of this year, in the 2nd quarter they announce a new phone and no upgrade penalties for 2010! - Sounds a little desperate to me.

People are tired of the same old interface with the same old settings, Android is faster, newer and you can customize it to whatever you want it to be, though if you choose to run stock, no problem.

Even Google releasing one major upgrade per a year is more updates than Apple, and if developers don't want to stay at the cutting edge they should choose something else, like baking. Baking technology hasn't changed in a good 70 years.

The Android army now has a new flagship.

Ooohhh, the EVO seems to be catching up since last night. Make sure to spread the word in Android forums around. Go EVO!

I wonder how a survey like this would do on a non-apple fanboy site. Then we would see more real statistics. A Gizmodo survey is like going into an Apple Store and asking the people there which phone they would rather have, the Iphone or the EVO?
